The Promised Land A New and Growing Relationship with Jesus
BIBLE STORY SUMMARY: The Israelites could not continue to love and obey God. God sent His Son, Jesus, to rescue His people from their sin and to give them new hearts and the Holy Spirit to enable them to love and obey Him. LESSON FOCUS: To understand that I was born with a sinful heart and need a new heart. To understand that God sent His Son, Jesus, to rescue me from my sin and to give me a new heart and His Holy Spirit so that I will be able to love and obey Him. WHAT WE LEARNED ABOUT GOD: God sent His Son to give His people new hearts. LET’S TALK ABOUT WHAT WE LEARNED: Did the Israelites need a Savior? (yes) Do we? (yes) Why do we need a Savior? (To save us from our sin. We are stuck in sin and unable to know God and have eternal life. The Bible says that all have sinned & need Jesus as our Savior, to take our sin away.)

What does it mean to believe in Jesus?
To Know that Jesus is God To Believe in His death for us To Recognize the incredible pain He endured & penalty He paid on our behalf To accept His gift of forgiveness of sin To Allow Him to give us a new heart and the power to live in obedience to Him
Jesus is God’s gift to the world. What are the two gifts God has for us when we believe in Jesus? (A new heart and His Holy Spirit to live in our new heart.)
