MARRIAGE MENTORS
At Berean, we equip Marriage Mentors to be key players in preventing marital problems by coaching couples with the skills and tools for more successful relationships. Our Marriage Mentors help both engaged couples and those who are married to talk about the hopes, dreams, and expectations they have for their marriage. They concentrate on the couple’s strengths and what’s good in their relationship. Marriage mentors are not counselors. Our mentors are trained to know when and how to refer a couple to a licensed, professional counselor, if needed. If you would like to have a Marriage Mentor or join the ranks of the Marriage Mentors, please contact Pastor Brent Birdsall at 952.223.1806.
MILITARY SUPPORT Berean understands the challenges that are faced by those serving our country and their families, and we want to help. Our mission is Biblical and non-partisan. If you are in the military, or if you have a family member in the military, we want to hear from you. For more information on how we can help, please contact Lisa Martens at 817.966.6811 or Kari Peterson at 952.223.1848 or karip@bereanbaptist.com.

PIZZA AND PUTT-PUTT
See You At The Pole is a student-led, student-organized prayer event, when middle and high school students around the nation pray together at the flagpoles of their schools before school starts. They pray that God will do a great work in their families, schools, churches, and in the nation. It is a powerful event, and we encourage all Prime Time students to connect with other students at their schools and take the time to pray together.
This “Big Event” is a great time to hang out with old friends and make new ones. Great food and lots of fun. We invite each Prime Time student to join us and have a great time! Look for your first official Prime Time mailing in early September. For more information, contact Mike Fessler.

This Sunday is for those interested in dedicating their baby or child. Prior to the dedication, there will be an important informational class held for parents, led by Pastor Paul Emanuelson. To participate, contact Bethany Gerber.
October 30 and December 18
Baptism is a public way to identify with Christ and tell outwardly that we belong to Christ (Romans 6:3-4). Boys and girls can follow the example of Jesus who was baptized by John even though He was without sin (Matthew 3:13-1). If a boy or girl would like to learn more about baptism, they should attend an upcoming class. For more information, see page 15.
FALL FESTIVAL
Monday, October 31, 5:30-7pm, Gym Bring your family to this Halloween alternative. Enjoy fellowship with others dressed up in Bible character costumes. Evening includes a harvest theme, carnival time, a mini-message, and lots of candy in the Candy Parade. Parents please bring 1-2 bags of candy per child for the Candy Parade.
GOD’S SPECIAL FLOCK (GSF)
BETHLEHEM BIRTHDAY Saturday, December 3, 9am-12pm
Children and families travel together experiencing HIStory learning what life might have been like in Jesus’ day. Kids will be able to: dip their own candle, pet live sheep, visit people in the “streets of Bethlehem”, make an ornament, pound together a manger or toy, knead and make their own bread, and sing songs and make an instrument. For parents and children 4-10 years old.
One-on-one special care for children with special needs is provided on Sunday mornings to mainstream children who need help coping with a classroom setting. We assign special companions when desired. Companions not only help a GSF child maximize time in the class setting, but also helps the other children realize the value placed on each and every child by our creator, God. Questions? Please contact Kim Phillips.
Berean Education Center (BEC)
BEC offers a variety of opportunities for children, including preschool and pre-kindergarten classes offered September through May. Preschool Plus offers a preschool program in addition to day care. Requirements are: competency on an instrument, attendance to scheduled rehearsals, and availability to play at the scheduled performances. For more information, contact Clare Boyer.
WORSHIP TEAM
Rehearsal: Thursdays, 7-9pm The worship team assists in leading worship during the contemporary services. This team is open to those age 16 or older who are comfortable singing parts and are able to improvise. Instrumentalists/vocalists must be able to practice on their own time and come prepared for rehearsal. The worship team leads during both contemporary services, and in special worship services throughout the year. If you are interested in auditioning for the worship team, please contact Kay Larson.
SANCTUARY CHOIR
Rehearsal: Wednesdays, 6:45-8:15pm The Sanctuary Choir is for anyone age 16 and over, who can sing, learn, and hold their own part. The choir regularly sings in the Sanctuary service (8:30am) and also participates in concerts throughout the year. For more information, contact Clare Boyer.

VIDEO MINISTRY & TECHNICAL ARTS TEAM Gadgets, gismos, and God are the focus of the “tech team” here at Berean. Most of our ministries rely on the use of technical support in the form of sound, Pro Presenter, lighting, and video transmission. We could use you on our team! We will provide training on the equipment and ask for involvement one to two times per month. This is a ministry for all ages! Questions? Contact Kay Larson.
CHILDREN’S CHOIRS
Rehearsal: Wednesdays, 5:55-6:45pm We have four age-appropriate choirs for children in kindergarten through sixth grade. Raindrop, Sonbeam, Promise, and Rainbow choirs contribute to Sunday services, special events and the presentation of a full musical during the school year. A younger choir for four year olds is also available by early registration, due to size limitations. There is currently a need for directors and parent helpers. For more information, contact Mary Beth Eiter at 952.445.1203.
“IMAGO DEI” YOUTH CHOIR The youth choir is for students grades 7-12. The choir sings for special events and for Sunday services. Can’t sing? No worries. We also use students to provide our own accompaniment and technical support. There is currently a need for directors this year. If we cannot find leaders, Imago Dei will take a break from meeting this year. If you are interested in leading, please contact Kay Larson. In the meantime, if you are a student interested in singing, we encourage you to join the Worship Choir.

BAPTISM
Worship Ministries
October 30 and December 18 Baptism is the external expression of our inward and personal faith. It declares “Jesus is Lord” in a public and visible fashion, announcing to everyone that we have surrendered to a new authority in our lives. Berean offers indoor baptism during the fall/winter/spring months. You might have questions about why we baptize by immersion, if you should be re-baptized as an adult, or even if baptism is a requirement for salvation. These questions and more will be answered in the pre-requisite class, held October 16 and December 11. Watch the Sunday bulletin for more details or contact Kay Larson.

If you are interested in becoming more involved with this initiative, please contact Crissy Krukowski. Come join us for prayer on the first Wednesday of every month from 7-8pm at 15729 Highview Drive, Apple Valley.
