Should I have a flu vaccination?

It is recommended that patients with lowered immunity due to disease or treatment (such as SACT) should have the flu vaccine.

Ideally, you should have your flu vaccine before starting treatment. However, if this is not possible you should speak to the team treating you and they will advise as to the best time to have it.

Any people who live in the same house as you should also have the flu vaccine.

The vaccine is free and is available at your GP surgery or at your local pharmacy.

It is important to remember that anyone having SACT must not have any live vaccinations.
