PROPERTY MARKET PRICE INCREASES
2020 saw an incredibly active market within the property sector and with the welcome boost after the first lockdown in the form of the stamp duty holiday, we saw vast levels of business across the group with many people spurred on to make the saving. As such, the increase in demand has certainly had a positive impact on property prices across the board.
We’re taking a look at how prices have changed dramatically over the last 10 years and how investing in property could be one of the soundest and in many cases, most lucrative option.
As you will see from the chart, across Essex alone, property prices have increased on average by £100,000 over the last decade. This is an excellent example of capital growth which could make purchasing a property and retaining it a very good idea. In Chelmsford alone, if you purchased a property at £286,087 in 2010, the price in 2020 would be £435,185 which makes equates to a monetary increase of £149,099.
With these figures it’s easy to see why investing in property can be so profitable. Plus, you have multiple options including buying to let which will give you a continuous income stream, selling on or handing the property over to your children in years to come! Just think, what could your £307,272 property in Colchester be worth in 2030!
