After all everyone knows something about property, but can most of us genuinely say we know a lot about other investments that our money is tied up in? Continued demand for rental property in 2011 and the resultant upward trend in rental values has seen the number of buy to let investors looking for properties rise by over 30%. In addition, the availability of buy to let finance has improved significantly with rates starting from around 1.99%. Recent Council for Mortgage Lenders figures also show a 12% increase in advances in the last quarter alone. The attraction of residential property as an investment is easy to understand. It is a tangible asset and people are familiar with it.
