GREEN BERET HAT AND SECOND WORLD WAR

Hats have been a trend from ancient ages. Hats used

to denote different aspects of a person at different times.

Sometimes a hat was worn just for fashion though,

at other times, it is used in other aspects too.

For example, military beret hats have been used

since a long time ago.

 Even in ancient Greece, there is ample enough

evidence to show that, the military personnel used to wear beret hats.

 Similarly, over the time, beret hats are used by much

different military force in different countries.

 Britain is no different in this case. Beret hats have

been used in British military too as it was prevalent in other countries such a France, Italy etc.

 This headdress was worn by the British army in World War 2.

 As the world was going on, there were various uniforms

incorporated in different armies in different countries and Green Beret became one of the significant symbols of the British army.

 Though after World War 2, the green beret hat somewhat

became obsolete, it is still worn by a specific group of the army in the British army.

 For example, royal marines who have passed commando

course also wear the Green Beret. But it isn't limited to Marines also.

 Royal navy, army, and royal air force also can wear Green

Beret hat. But there are specific conditions as to who and when can wear the Green Beret hat.

 Only those army personnel, who have completed all arms

commando course, can wear the Green Beret hats.

 Thus, royal marines, army, and royal air force personnel have

the authority to wear the hat but only if they complete the above-mentioned course.

 Though as it has been said earlier, that British army only used

to wear Green Beret hats, there was some exclusion to it also.

 For example, Australian, French, and Dutch commandos could

also wear the Green Beret hat but the condition was that only those regimental units could wear the Green Beret hat that has some ties with the British army.

 This tie can be on different aspect including any kind of

historical tie with the British army.

 If they have any connections on that aspect, even the US,

or French unit also could wear the traditional Green Beret hats which is one of the symbol of the British army.

 Thus, Green Beret hat has a history which goes long way

back up to World War 2.

And it has served as traditional headdress not

only in World War 2 but it served British Army after World War 2 also.

But then again, the fashion industry still owns

various shapes and styles of beret hats for women and men and that is why these hats are still great choices for accessories.
