CONFERENCE INVITATION Dear Sir or Madam, We would like to cordially invite you to our conference
“Social Innovation in the Metropolitan Regions of Vienna, Stockholm and Berlin: Insights and Outlook” Berlin, June 10th The conference takes place in cooperation with the Swedish Embassy in Berlin in the Nordic Embassies, Rauchstr. 1 in Berlin on 10 June 2014 and is organised in the framework of the project “Berlin Transfer” (www.berlin-transfer.net) conducted by u.bus GmbH (www.ubus.net) and funded by the Senate Senate Department for Labour, Integration and Women's Affairs (SENAIF), Vocational Qualification Unit. Youth and long term unemployment, social inclusion, skills shortage, demographic change, migration and immigration: Europe today is facing societal challenges demanding new solutions and ways of cooperating. The European Commission considers social innovation as key to supporting a smart, sustainable and inclusive growth in line with the Europe 2020 Strategy and promotes social innovation in different European Funds and Programmes (e.g. ESF, EaSI/Progress, Horizon 2020). It is assumed that social innovation is facilitated by cross-sectoral cooperation, i.e. the systematic interconnection of the public and private sector, companies, social economy and civil society organisations – with the result of such a ‘co-creation’ process being bigger than the contribution of each individual partner. The strong interconnection in cities like Stockholm, Vienna and Berlin provides a favourable environment for innovation, which is the result of combined ideas and perspectives. Inviting representatives from municipalities, providers of education and training, NGOs, social partners and employment agencies, we want to bring together these different perspectives and welcome stakeholders to discuss the possibilities of social innovation both at local level and in the framework of transnational exchange. We would be delighted if you could join us for our conference and contribute to the exchange of practice and experience. To register please click here or use the enclosed tax registration form. Sincerely,
Klaus-Dieter Paul, Managing Director of u.bus - Regional Development and European Project Management
