1 REKI NDLE 2019 3rd Year Capstone Project Set in the suburb of Westmead, this project looks to utilise the proposed school grounds and its surroundings as a catalyst for stronger community connection. The vision towards a more prominent town centre is achieved by rejuvenating and enhancing existing areas along the main artery running through Westmead – Hawkesbury Road. Here, a vibrant journey is established between the public realm and immediate school grounds that contains shared areas for the local community. While creating a vibrant and well-connected suburb, the school prioritises family-friendly and child engaging design as a means to ultimately rekindle community spirit.

VISIONSTATEMENT

To design a welcoming school precinct with the children’s needs at heart. While fostering academic learning and play, the school precinct will also serve as a landmark town centre that provides facilities, amenities and public spaces for the wider community so as to strengthen and celebrate the diverse identity of Westmead as a whole. The physical environment will be a well connected precinct on various scales and shall reflect a sense of ‘coming together’ and unity to rekindle Westmead’s community spirit.

2 REGENERATE RENEWt own 2019 3rd Year Design Studio Newtown, a suburb located in the inner west of Sydney, is a hub for entertainment and diversity, forming a unique identity with its’ distinct characteristics. Newtown is based around the artery road of King Street and the secondary artery road, Enmore road. There is a clear focus of entertainment and commercial activity around the Enmore Rd and King street intersection as well as along King street. This project looks to rejuvenate and reactivate lost public spaces within Newtown that are in close proximity to both busy activity centres and residential clusters. This project strives to enhance the user experience of locals, commuters and visitors travelling through, within and beyond Newtown. In making Newtown a more liveable neighbourhood, it is at the heart of the project to celebrate the unique character of Newtown in a safe and economic manner.

3 HOUSE OF CELEBRATI ON 2018 Architectural Technologies 2 This house of celebration is located on the water’s edge of Parramatta Park. Designed to accomodate the needs of special ocassions, such as weddings and other special formal occasions, the timber structure takes advantage of the refuge versus prospect perspective of the specially chosen area. This project places a strong focus on passive heating and cooling to ensure this venue can be used all year round.

4 WARRI OR 2019 3rd Year Capstone Project Warrior Yoga Studio, is a project located near the University of Sydney Grounds Camperdown. Being central to a diverse community, from students to the locals of Redfern area. The two storey building aims to provide a space that people of all backgrounds can escape to for self reflection. The programs that take place in this venue revolve around self-care that nurture the mind, body and soul. People can come here to nurture their minds in the open library section, nurture their physical health at the fresh tea stall and nurture their soul in the public yoga sessions. Warrior studio strives to rely on passive cooling and heating design principles and ultimately reduce CO2 emissions.

Stack ventilation removes heat from the room when there are windows at the bottom and the top of the room Wind enters the building and cools the room through natural ventilation by “bringing” the hot air with it

In winter, heat from the Sun in the garden is moved into the building in the winter. In Summer, the garden is shaded by the first floor to allow for a cool outdoor space.

5 MI CROHOME 2020 ongoing Independent Project This microhome design looks to solve the environmental and social issues present in Mongolia, specifically the prominent air pollution problemwhich affects the health of the population. Inspired by the traditional Mongolian housing - the Ger, this project aims to reduce individual house contribution to air pollution as well as ease the transition of countryside people who move to the outskirts of Mongolia’s Capital City, Ulaanbaatar.

6 LEI SURE 2020 Sketching & Doodling 2020 was a year where I was able to experiment and delve into other creative outlets such as sketching and doodling. I got in touch with various methods and mediums to draw differents subjects by hand. Most importantly, these leisurely sketches opened my mind to the endless graphic styles that can be accomplished with just a simple pen.
