Sail and work experience Born in the UK but raised bilingually speaking both French and English, Chris has been sailing since the young age of 7. He nurtured his love for the water on his family boats before choosing a career path in yachts over a decade ago. With extensive experience skippering long-haul yacht deliveries, sailing expeditions, and regattas, Chris has travelled all around the world. From the Atlantic and Caribbean to Mediterranean and Northern Europe, he has knowledge of all IRELANDA’s destinations. Chris is also a keen diver and holds a PADI Instructor status.
Job Description Chris is responsible for navigation, safety, the overall running and financial management of the vessel, crew and guests. He ensures the safe and efficient operation of the yacht at all times, including compliance with all safety procedures and regulations. He takes care of adhering to flag regulations, port state and local laws and regulations, and manages the crew to ensure adherence to, and a full understanding of, the vessel’s policies.

Sail and work experience Lydia sailed from a very young age on her families 36ft catamaran, learning various maintenance, deckhand and line handling duties from her father. Beginning her yachting career with deck daywork in 2019, Lydia quickly progressed to a full-time deckhand role on a 64m motor yacht. After getting her first taste of being a charter deckhand, Lydia joined IRELANDA’s crew in 2021 and has since achieved mate status in the team! Job Description Lydia has the expertise required to stand in for Captain in his absence, acting as second in command. She assists the captain during navigation and participates in all on-deck operations, respecting guest’s activities. She has extensive knowledge of sailing yachts maintenance and is responsible for the running of deck equipment and machinery. A classically French-trained chef with over 20 years of professional experience, Eoin enjoys cooking modern European cuisine while adding his own innovative twists on dishes inspired by his travels. After achieving his diploma in Culinary Arts, Eoin worked in various kitchen environments including hotels, restaurants, an opera house and on planes. Building his portfolio, Eoin joined IRELANDA in 2021 and has spent several years catering to guests’ requirements and providing meals with culinary flair.
Beginning her career as a stewardess onboard yachts in 2019, Gabriella is wellversed in the role and has extensive knowledge of maintaining the interior to high standards. She has excellent organisation skills in both team and individual work, respecting deadlines and problem solving where necessary. Gabriella managed several other junior stewardesses in her last role, gaining the leadership and confidence necessary for the IRELANDA crew.
Job Description
Gabriella is responsible for organization, management and cleanliness of all interiors. She maintains an accurate inventory of all service items and supplies. She ensures cleaning and preparation of the vessel to the highest standards prior to any and all guest trips. In charge of vessel provisioning for both guests and crew, and all aspects of daily life. When guests are onboard, she ensures they are properly cared for and that all their requirements are met. She offers a particular attention to details and a polite and entertaining spirit.
In charge of the galley and is responsible for all guests and crew meals, assuring a rich variety of food. Eoin estimates food needs, reviews inventory assuring adequate supplies are available, sticking to budget and guests’ expectations. Carries out food service activities in order to have meals prepared at scheduled times and makes sure he complies with health regulations. Thanks to his creativity, he develops new recipes and ways of serving food in order to satisfy different guests’ wishes.
