Yves Marie is a lifelong yachting enthusiast; hailing from Brittany and growing up on a sailing yacht between Africa, the Caribbean, Brazil and Venezuela there is nothing Yves Marie is more passionate about than being at sea. With experience as a captain, first mate and technician for a wide variety of both motor and sailing yachts.
Yann has over 30 years’ experience in the yachting industry. He began as a first mate in 1988 working with a team shooting whales and dolphins for French T.V. From there he went on to work as a captain and engineer on sailing yachts all around the world before turning his hand to motor yachts in 2017. He now finds himself aboard OCEAN SAPPHIRE as an accomplished, passionate and capable First Officer.

Responsible for the navigation, safety, the overall running and financial management of the vessel, the crew and the guests. He ensures the safe and efficient operation of the yacht at all times, including compliance with all safety procedures and regulations. He takes care of adhering to flag regulations, port state and local laws and regulations, and manages the crew to ensure adherence to, and a full understanding of, the vessel’s policies. He provides daily leadership for the crew and encourages teamwork, individual growth and personal attention by delegating duties and supervising all crew tasks.

Judicael was really thrown in at the deep end, beginning his marine engineering career on a container ship. This was a great start that soon allowed him to graduate to the sole engineer aboard M/Y GEMS in 2014. Since then he has worked on a number of motor yachts as both the lead and 2nd engineers. This included a 2 season stint aboard M/Y ABILITY. He’s had experience with a huge range of different operating systems and has even supervised maintenance work during the winter. He has completed numerous charters so is ready to come aboard OCEAN SAPPHIRE with the skills and enthusiasm to keep her running smoothly.
Benjamin began his career in marketing, spending a year working for large companies such as Schweppes and Société Générale. From there he went into management working at Aldi and Leroy Merlin. His yachting career began on S/Y BABOON where he worked as a deckhand before moving on to motor yachts DREAMCATCHER and LADY TAHITI. He is now a seaman aboard OCEAN SAPPHIRE with varied and extensive experience.

Job description Judicael inspects machines, engines, transmissions etc. and runs diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues. He conducts repairs aiming for maximum reliability, he troubleshoots reported problems and resolves them in a timely manner. He performs thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems, he replenishes fluids and components of engines and machinery. Judicael provides consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle users. He also keeps logs of work and reports on issues

Julie began her career in customer service experience, working in various Cannes outlets such as EVE, Planet Kids, Just For You and IKKS. From there she went on to become the Secretary Treasurer of the Prud’homie de Peche in Antibes. Her career in the yachting industry began with a transatlantic crossing aboard SUPER SERVANT 4. Since then she has gained 8 years of stewardess experience on various motor yachts including GALATEA, ELENA, AFRICAN QUEEN and DELHIA..
Johanna has a large amount of hospitality experience she worked as head waiter in a number of restaurants all over the South of France before moving into the yachting industry. In 2017 she completed a transatlantic crossing aboard S/CAT NABUCHODONOSOR, and has since completed a number of charters aboard sailing and motor yachts as a stewardess, chef and deckhand. She now finds herself aboard OCEAN SAPPHIRE with the experience to confidently welcome guests.

She ensures cleaning and preparation of the vessel to the highest standards prior to any and all guest trips. In charge of vessel provisioning for both guests and crew, and all aspects of daily life. When guests are on board, she ensures they are properly cared for and that all their requirements are met. She offers a particular attention to details and a polite and entertaining spirit.

Sail and work experience Patrice is a veteran chef, having worked in the industry since 1998. Over the last 21 years he has made his way through the ranks of various restaurants and hotels, even working at some with Michelin stars! From there he joined the yachting industry, working most recently on M/Y MOSKING in 2017. He can cook food from all over the globe, creativity and authenticity are his trademarks.

Job description Partrice is in charge of the galley and is responsible for all guests and crew meals, assuring a rich variety of food. Patrice estimates food needs, reviews inventory assuring adequate supplies are available, sticking to budget and guests’ expectations. Carries out food service activities in order to have meals prepared at scheduled times and makes sure he complies with health regulations. Thanks to his creativity, he develops new recipes and ways of serving food in order to satisfy different guests’ wishes.
