Natural Deodorants

With questions being raised about the toxicity of traditional aluminum-based deodorants, many are turning to natural deodorants only to find their performance is less than ideal. Well don’t sweat it, we’ve done some testing for you.
NATIVE This deodorant is a power house for a natural formula. We tried both the Lavender & Rose as well as the Coconut & Vanilla. The lavender scent was a little bit strong but both formulas went on super smooth and creamy. This deodorant really does keep you smell free for 24 hours. It did leave a small amount of residue on clothing, but washed out easily and wasn’t a white film. This worked best of the natural deodorants, but the only downfall is the price. At $12 per unit, it is pricey.
Tom’s Antiperspirant Deodorant Stick This deodorant is great at keeping you dry and smelling fresh. It doesn’t glide on as smoothly as others and is a bit chalkier in texture. The scent (powder scent) is super light and fresh and isn’t overpowering. Even though this formula claims 24-hour protection, you do need to re-apply it during the day. Tom’s does leave a white residue and white creases under the arms where the deodorant clumped together. I like the fact that this formula helps keep you dry; I think this would be a good summer deodorant and the price point is much lower than other natural deodorants.
Schmidt's Lavender + Sage Natural Deodorant Because it isn’t an antiperspirant, it didn’t prevent sweating, but it did a solid job at neutralizing and preventing odor for normal activities. However, it didn’t do very well during intense workouts. It is moderately priced and doesn’t feel too sticky. Schmidt’s did leave some chalking on clothing. All and all, it is a decent option.
Arm & Hammer Essentials Deodorant: This product is very similar to Schmidt's with the added benefit of no chalking. In fact, other than that, the review could be identical. It doesn’t hold up during intense workouts but does a very nice job otherwise. BHW
