03 _ VEPAL pre-finished engineered floor: what is it?

Pre-finished engineered wooden floors are made up of a series of multilayer strips, in other words two or more layers of different kinds of wood, with tongue and groove joints. The wear layer (top layer) is in solid wood, never less than 2.5 millimetres thick. The middle core ensures stability with a series of softwood lamella (very often birch or spruce) glued together crosswise. Nearly all Vepal pre-finished engineered products, apart from Eco Pre-finished, have an extra support (counterbalancing layer) in birch, spruce or poplar, giving a "3-layer" pre-finished wooden floor (hardwood top layer + middle layer + counterbalancing layer).

WE CAREFULLY SELECT AND SELL Pre -finished WOODEN FLOORS FEATURING THE BEST QUALITY AVAILABLE. WE HAVE A WIDE and varied RANGE OF Pre-finished engineered FLOORS TO MEET DIFFERENT REQUIREMENTS IN PERFORMANCE, AESTHETICS AND PRICE.

VEPAL Pre-finished ENGINEERED WOODEN FLOOR: WHY BUY IT? simplY WOOD Wood is the natural material par excellence: it has always been praised as a living material, needing the same environmental conditions that are healthy for people. The emotion and warmth of natural wood are incomparable with any other kind of floor covering, offering high performance teamed with remarkable aesthetic and decorative elegance.

RESISTANT Thanks to a series of several coats, the lacquer finish gives a wear layer that is truly resistant to abrasion, perfectly smooth and free from imperfections.

Joint STABILITY ECO FRIENDLY Vepal pre-finished engineered floors are a choice that respect the environment as they are totally sustainable. This product is in fact entirely recyclable, unlike laminates, ceramic tiles, marble and similar. What's more, all Vepal pre-finished engineered products use eco-friendly varnishes and glues in compliance with European legislation.

EASY REPAIRS In case this kind of wooden floor is installed floating, repairs are easy as damaged pieces can be replaced individually. This operation must always be carried out by specialised personnel.

Every single element of a Vepal pre-finished engineered wooden floor has the advantage of total tongue and groove profiling, even for the smaller sizes.

EASY LAYING One of the big advantages of Vepal pre-finished engineered products is that they are quick and easy to install. This also goes for existing floors. It generally only takes a couple of days to lay this kind of floor.

SUITABLE FOR UNDERFLOOR HEATING/COOLING SYSTEMS Vepal pre-finished engineered products can be laid with underfloor heating/ cooling systems.

support STABILITY The multi-layers support is the result of years of research to use the best materials and adhesives, so as to eliminate any dynamic tension and offer a wooden floor with absolute stability that lasts.

EASY CLEANING AND maintenance Some of the most important characteristics of Vepal wooden floors are easy cleaning and care.

COMPOSITION

The base of a Vepal laminate floor is a support panel in High Density Fibreboard (HDF), comprising virgin wood fibres compressed with resins. This "core" is covered by a decorative layer containing a sheet of paper that faithfully reproduces the surface finish and grain of wood. The top surface layer is an overlay that gives a transparent finish, made from a thermosetting resin to guarantee the highest resistance to foot traffic. The counterbalancing is provided by a stabilising paper impregnated with melamine resins.

PRODUCT DATA SHEET GOODS INSPECTION The material has to be checked upon receipt of the goods. The use or sale of the material by the buyer witnesses for his acknowledgment that the same complies with the order confirmation. Should defects become visible during the installation, the buyer shall immediately stop it and promptly inform the supplier, otherwise there will be the forfeiture of all its rights. The supplier's liabilities cannot go beyond the replacement of the defective material. Wood is a natural material and therefore the elements will never be absolutely the same or identical to the sample shown by the purchase. Over time, wood changes the colour due to its natural oxidation.

INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE INSTALLATION Keep the planks packaged and stored in a dry and clean environment. Open the packages just before the installation, making sure that the environmental temperature is at least 15°C with the relative humidity level being between 45% and 65%. The subfloor has to be sheltered from environmental humidity infiltration and from condensation development; dry, with a remaining humidity level not higher than 2% for cement screeds and 0.5% for anhydride screeds (measured with the CM instrument in conformity with the standard UNI 10329); solid; sound; without cracks; leveled; clean; dry and not powdery. For installation on underfloor heating systems follow the specific rules. For installation on pre-existing ceramic or marble tiles a proper subfloor preparation is necessary. Do not install on subfloors with old glue traces. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS During the installation phase the wooden floor elements have to be taken out at the same time from the different packs, in order to have a uniform chromatic result. The subfloor must be clean, sound, well level and dry. It’s necessary to verify the moisture content of the subfloor and the environment. An expansion joint of about 10mm should be left along the floor’s perimeter (which will be covered by the skirting board) to allow the wood flooring natural expansion during settlement. The glue must be spread only on the subfloor possibly in work lines perpendicular to the sense of the wood strip/plank to each other with a notched trowel and not the on sides of the strips/planks. Use exclusively specific adhesives for pre-finished engineered wooden floors, following the manufacturer’s instructions. During the installation phase eventual glue traces on the wooden floor surface must be immediately removed without rubbing the wooden floor surface. It’s recommended to not let catalyse the glue, because the removing of the same with continuos rubbing of the surface could damage the floor (shiny spots). After the installation the wooden floor surface has to be well cleaned, removing all glue spots or further dirt contamination. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS FOR THE INSTALLATION AND THE MAINTENANCE OF THE WOODEN FLOOR: HUMIDITY: 45%-65%; TEMPERATURE 18-22°C. USE AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS The wood is a natural and live material and is subject to natural deformations. In case the environmental conditions are not those mentioned above, there could be deformations of the wooden elements. In particular, the wide planks due to their big dimensions, could be subject to extreme deformations, if not properly stored. 08 _ PRODUCT DATA SHEET

The wooden floor, if well maintained, will reward you with a warm, elegant and comfortable atmosphere. For best maintenance of your wooden floors some care is necessary: • Keep an environmental temperature between +18°C and +22°C, never below +10°C. • The environmental relative humidity level has to be between 45% and 65%. Humidity levels over the one above mentioned may cause wood swelling; lower humidity levels may cause gaps and shrinkage between elements. During winter, it is suggested to check the environmental humidity and, in case it is too dry, make use of an air moistener. • Avoid to overload small areas of the wooden floors. • Just after the installation, in order to have a uniform wooden oxidation, we suggest to avoid covering the floor with any kind of carpets or similar items. • In case of installation on heating floor system pay attention to its adjustment and functioning with a maximum heating temperature of the liquid in the pipes of about +30°C, so that the wooden floor temperature does not exceed +27°C, confirming the conditions mentioned in the points 1 and 2. Eventual gaps, that could appear between the floor elements, are due to a progressive shrinkage caused by wood dehydration, and shall not be considered as defects. • Put a clean doormat outside the main entrance and before walking on the floor pay attention to remove dust and abrasive particles from shoes soles in order to avoid scratches or damage on the floor surface. Pay attention to pets in the House. • Damp mop the floor only. Be sure to avoid excessive amounts of water (see cleaning instructions below). CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS CLEANING OF A LACQURED FLOOR: Lacquered surface: The wooden floor has received a protective surface lacquer, that has to be well maintained. This protecting finishing will preserve the wood floor from wear and dirt while keeping its characteristics and beauty. We suggest you: • Regularly remove dust with a suitable anti-dust cloth, a mop or a vacuum cleaner. • Regularly clean the floor with a well wrung cloth, using water and a neutral soap such as BRT DET. • Do not use alcohol, ammonia or other solvents that could damage the finishing. • Do not drench the floor. PLEASE NOTE: All the cleaning and maintenance products have to be used according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Wood is a natural material therefore it is impossible to find elements equal to the samples shown and examined by the purchase. During time the wood will darken due to its natural oxidation. CLEANING OF An oiled FLOOR: this wooden floor has been treated with an exclusive natural oil that gives the surface a velvety sheen, enhances the natural grain of the wood to the max and protects the floor from external aggression by dirt and humidity. We recommend: • Putting a doormat at the entrance to the home; • Cleaning the floor regularly with special dust-attracting cloths, a brush or vacuum cleaner; • About 6/8 months after laying, treating the wooden floor with a coat of liquid wax for oiled floors, applying after having thoroughly cleaned the whole surface. Repeat every 10/12 months. A correctly cleaned oiled wooden floor, that is constantly cared for, will last longer.

Don't use alcohol, ammonia or solvents that may damage the oil finish. Extraordinary maintenance of oiled floors may become necessary when the wooden floor is scratched or ordinary maintenance has not been carried out. Should an oiled floor show signs of abnormal wear, the wooden floor needs to be restored. First of all the floor must be thoroughly washed and then a new oil coat has to be applied. Once the oil is completely dry, a wax finish can be applied. Liquid waxes should be used to care for oiled wooden floors. These products do not require polishing as they already contain special natural self-polishing substances.

8 days from the date of goods receiving and in any case before installation. The use of the material by the buyer witnesses for his acknowledgement that the same is perfect, as well as to the waiver to raise claims of any nature. Should defects become visible during the installation, the buyer shall immediately stop it, notifying at the same time the manufacturer or forfeit all his rights. The obligations belonging to the manufacturer shall not exceed the return and replacement of the material acknowledged as defective. Claims do not entitle the buyer to stop or delay payments. No claims will be accepted in case of colours differences, silica apperance, because they belong to the nature of the wood.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR LAMINATES CLEANING Laminate floors are easy to clean because dust and dirt do not stick to the surface. All that's needed for everyday care is a vacuum cleaner or slightly damp cloth. Use neutral detergents specific for cleaning laminate floors. We do not recommend cleaning with water as this could permanently damage the floor.

F - Shipping - The goods travel at buyer's risk and peril, regardiess of a possibile CIF sale, therefore any and all damages or loss of the material shall be for the sole buyer's account, who shall applywith the forwarding company for refunds.

Never use steam cleaners as these could damage the surface. VEPAL WPC DECKING: ORDINARY MAINTENANCE To keep WPC Decking beautiful and clean we recommend using water with a little neutral soap, with no need for any other products in particular. Should more thorough cleaning be necessary, you can use diluted bleach, making sure to rinse the decking thoroughly afterwards. N.B. All cleaning and care products must be used according to the manufacturers' instructions.

GENERAL SALES CONDITIONS A - ORDERS - Orders placed through agents or representatives are subject to the acceptance from the Company Management. B - DIMENSIONS - Top view dimensions, even if specified in the order confirmation, are understood to be approximate only. C - DELIVERIES - The delivery terms are understood to be approximate. In this case it has the right to give new delivery times on the basis of their next availability in the warehouse. D - DAMAGES - The customer will be responsible for any and all damages due to improper storage or negligence. The customer has, in this case, all the obligations belonging to a store keeper. VEPAL does not undertake any liability for damages to the material arising from or because of the installation of the same. E – CLAIMS - The acceptance test on the material shall be performed upon its arrival. Possible claims therein included those relating to the moisture content, to the colour and to the tonality shall be made in writing by registered letter with receipt of delivery within
