It is almost time again, the men of 3fm go into the glasshouse to raise as much money as possible for the Red Cross. This year the glasshouse in Leeuwarden is in Friesland. The Frisian cyclist Lieuwe Westra supports the glasshouse with the sale of "Lieuwe Westra cycling socks". The white socks have a Dutch flag on the top and the name of Westra on the foot. They are available in sizes 35-38, 39-42 and 43-46. The price is 12.95 euros, a large part of which goes to the charity of this year. The sale is organized by # FFF3FM (Fryslân phyrst foar 3fm) which also organizes an auction and bicycle tour from The Hague to Leeuwarden. The auction is on 6 December and is being led in the right direction by the Anker brothers. Among other things, a
time trial suit of Lieuwe Westra is auctioned and a Belkin cycling outfit by Bauke Mollema. The auction starts at 17.30 at the Blokhuispoort in Leeuwarden. Lieuwe Westra Lieuwe Westra is a Dutch (Frisian) cyclist and came out last season for Vacansoleil-DCM. He won the first stage in the Tour of California after
escaping with Mancebo in the final stages. He extended his national title on the individual time trial in Winsum. During the Tour de France he managed to reach Paris, but with less than forty kilometers he still had to get off due to illness. After the end of cycling team Vacansoleil-DCM, Westra switched to Astana. For this team he is in the preselection of the Tour de France, but the coming year will have to wait and see how well he is in shape.
Serious Request 3fm Serious Request is an annual action of radio channel 3fm. Three famous DJs join themselves in a Glass House and play requests from the listeners. Listeners can make requests for payment. This money is for the good cause. In recent years, it is no longer just about turning pictures. Listeners from all over the Netherlands set up campaigns and collect large amounts of money. This year Serious Request takes place at the Wilhelminaplein in Leeuwarden. The charity is again the Red Cross and the goal is to reduce the silent disaster diarrhea. The DJs who enter the glass house this year are Giel Beelen, Paul Rabbering en Coen Swijnenberg.
