Dear Friends and Family,

Welcome to the sixth-annual Champion of the Year Gala for Best Buddies in Maine! Tonight, we aim to celebrate, recognize, and uplift the intellectual and development disability community in our state. Hundreds of you have supported this Champion of the Year fundraising campaign for that very same purpose

c t r F at the Champion of the Year Gala. The Champion candidate who raises the most donations, surpassing all rivals in the competition, is named our 2024 Grand Champion of the Year.

Funds raised by the Champions and proceeds from the Gala will directly benefit the local programs of Best Buddies in Maine to create more friendships, develop leadership opportunities, and open new programs for hundreds of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities around the state. Thank you for your support of our Champion of the Year Gala and beyond! We couldn’t do this every day.

Circle of Champions

Fiona MacArthur | Over $50,000 Raised in 2023

Our 2023 Champion of the Year was Greely High School junior Fiona MacArthur. Raising over $50,000 for Best Buddies with her fundraising campaign last year, Fiona has made a tremendous impact on our local programs. She and her Mission Partner, Payton “P-Dog” Brown, have been members of the BB chapters at Greely High School since the beginning. This is the second student in a row to claim the Grand Champion title, and we are thrilled to see more and more young people rally around the mission of disability inclusion every year.

Thank you to Fiona, Payton, and our “Circle of Champions” for all they’ve done for our organization and the disability community!
