Holden was founded with a mission to create fashionable technical garments that function in the harshest mountain environments, but also look great around town. “Why change?” has been the mantra for our designs, and our passion has been answering the needs of explorers adventuring worldwide for garments that fit their active lifestyles and fashion sensibilities. For 2016 we have once again designed a collection based on the ethos of Timeless Quality™; enduring styles that last a lifetime, obsessive attention to detail, excellence in fabrication, and our continued dedication to eco-friendlier technologies and manufacturing processes.

Holden endeavors to improve our environmental impact by evaluating our whole process. When choosing materials, factory partners, and shipping options, we work hard to determine the best ways to make the least impact and still deliver a top quality product.

RELAXED FIT

Slim from top to bottom but still cut for movement, we use a shorter rise and a gusseted crotch for strength. HOLDEN was the first to offer a skinny pant in technical outerwear and we continue to develop the fit year to year.

Designed to be comfortable and relaxed, with a roomy rise, a spacious hip and thigh, and cut loose from knee to ankle .

Our jackets have a tailored fit that moves with you in the backcountry, but can transition to a casual night around town. Not too baggy, not too tight. The only variance you will find in our jacket fit is in the length, some are designed to be shorter or longer to match the intended style and use of the garment.

TECHNICAL REFERENCE GUIDE

Extreme protection for persistent heavy snow, rain, high winds and very wet environments.

Medium protection in moderate snow, rain and wind.

Down is warmer than synthetic insulation, no manmade fiber matches down’s warmth-to-weight ratio. Down is highly compressible, lightweight and retains its shape and loft well.

Insulated with synthetic fiber for added warmth and comfort. Synthetic insulation is a great choice for outdoor activities because it still offers warmth when wet. Synthetic insulation dries faster than down and is also hypoallergenic.

Also known as a hard shell, shell jackets are known to be the best option for very active pursuits, hiking, etc. Best for heavy precipitation and designed to layer under for warmth, and thus making the jacket more versatile as you have more control over your heat.

This icon signifies that some part of the garment, fabric, or treatments in making it have been considered, and a choice has been made to make it eco-friendlier. This most often costs more, but at Holden we consider this as a necessary choice.

This signifies as garment made using a stretchy material that provides more flexibility for active pursuits. We use stretch materials on our “skinny fit” and more tailored pieces.

Used in Holden outerwear linings, SCafé® is produced from with a low-temperature, high-pressure and energy saving process, turning coffee grounds into yarn. S. Café® offers a 200% faster drying time compared to cotton, is 3x more anti-microbial for less funk, and reflects UV rays.

LINING FABRIC 21. S.CAFÉ ®: A super soft and eco-friendlier lining fabric found in all Holden jackets. Constructed using used coffee grounds to produce an 79% poly and 21% recycled poly, this soft mélange fabric features fast drying and wicking properties, odor control and UV protection. 22. DWR TREATED EMBOSSED TAFFETA: We use our DWR treated taffeta where snow may get in and under to keep you drier. Placed on jackets for anything exposed below the powder skirt, and on pants on anything exposed below the boot gaiters. 100% polyester. 23.
