BEST CAREER CENTRE
from Public Magazine 2020
by BESTorg
There is a significant demand for developed and flexible students of science and technology with a broader range of knowledge. Hard and soft skills are acquired during the students’ degrees, however; there still is a significant gap between the knowledge that is learned in a classroom, and the expected performance from a given job. To bridge this gap and follow our mission, “Developing Students”, BEST provides a service that promotes the contact between students and companies - BEST Career Centre (BCC).
BCC is an online career center, where both companies and universities can share their job offers and students have the chance to expand their range of opportunities through a diverse and broad European network. BCC is divided into Dissemination, CV Database and Webinar.

Dissemination - BCC allows the dissemination of career and study opportunities, as well as special programs, to specific target groups. It consists in the career section of BEST’s official website and the newsletter sent to subscribers - complemented by social media promotion.
CV database - In the BEST website, students are able to fill in their profile, which will generate a CV. Their CV can be actively used to apply for job offers and special programs passively when partners are looking for candidates in our database (companies can target specific groups through their CVs). Currently, we have over 65 000 CVs in our database and the numbers are constantly increasing. Last year we received over 5000 new CVs. Webinar - Using an online platform, these events are scheduled and conducted by partners. Webinars can be a seminar or workshop held over the Internet. Companies tend to present themselves and the company culture; propose discussion groups about solutions to problems that are being studied by the company, or demonstrate some of their products or approaches. The webinar is aimed to provide online interaction between our partners with up to 100 selected students from all over Europe.
Taking into account the changes we are seeing in the current work environment with the pandemic, we believe this is an opportunity for students to explore more and more remote work and to promote that culture. BCC can also be a tool where companies can share an online inside view of their work environment and staff, increasing everyone’s opportunities and value proposals.
