The Guilt of Hard Effective Work I recently read a study that said corporate America works on average of 43 hours per week but the amount of productive activity is more of around 8 hours of actual work. How staggering to know that people who are paid for 35 hours of Facebooking, water-cooling and asking where today's lunch is going to be held. Well...for those true entrepreneurs whose sole objective is to drive revenue there is a massive upside to this potential. The downside that comes with hard effective work is the guilt of thinking your not putting in a full day's effort like the rest of the world. Entrepreneurial bad asses who have a locked down inner game know that a great day starts at 5 am with a ramp up workout routine, healthy breakfast, meeting with the family and momentum picks up to carry you full swing by 8 am. For those who have successfully made the transformation to making 8am to 12 noon the most productive, revenue-driven part of their day truly have the luxury of taking the rest of the day to do whatever they chose. Whether it be pure relaxation, build another project, help the community, work on your internal self (my personal favorite) or continue advancing toward your next million, the hard part comes for most when they see the rest of the world "working" and they are cruising with the top down on the way to the final golf showdown with the guys this week. There are only a few ways to overcome the guilt-driven blues of not having to fit the mold for effective hard work and it comes by doing what drives the dough. Think about ALL the things you do today that contribute no absolute value to your final goal and begin to time block and clear your mental desk (Eben Pagan is a maverick on this) and get the gold FIRST. After you bring in $10,000 today you are free to release the pressure and go tighten up that par 3. For more insight and true life changing information get on Eben Pagan's Wake Up Productive waiting list. I did this as a New Year's Resolution to myself and will do it every year for the rest of my life. It's a true game changer. So long... I'm off to the beach
