Every one of us aims to be successful in our chosen career. May it be being a professional, an entrepreneur, a housewife and mom; we all want to be the best at what we do. Therefore, we must ensure that we are being productive, since the ultimate key to success is productivity. Every one of us is blessed with the ability to do great things, but only a chosen few can achieve that. So what are the hindrances for being productive? If you are not being productive, here are three questions you have to ask yourself. Are you aggressive instead of assertive? Being assertive is taking full ownership of every decision you make. You are decisive about your choices, making sure that you fully understand the pros and cons. You weigh the situation in so that once you take that step forward, you are more than ready to take accountability of your action. Being aggressive on the other hand is being hasty in making your decisions, crossing the bridge without setting out a plan of how to get there. You are insistent on the choices you make, taking the plunge without giving as much thought to the consequences of your actions. Because of your hasty decisions, you are more likely prone to failures. Once that happens, you definitely will not achieve your goals. Hence, being aggressive is a hindrance to being productive. Are you a pessimist instead of an optimist? Being optimistic is seeing the light at the end of every tunnel. No matter the darkness, despite the obstacles you meet and the sacrifices you have to make along the way, you are positive that things will work out for the better. This further ignites the drive inside you to keep pushing through your goals no matter what. You get things done simply because when you meet failures and defeat, you still have the strength to get up and keep moving. Being pessimistic on the other hand is being negative about the situation, before the outcome is even established. You tend to sell yourself short, thinking you don't have what it takes to make things work. You are always on the lookout for the worst to happen. Thus, you never have that confidence in yourself that you can achieve your goals. Being a pessimist is indeed a hindrance to being productive. Do you value quantity more than quality? By valuing quality, you get things done not only the right way, but also, the best way. You make sure every goal is given equal prioritization, making sure you are always giving the best when you pursue them. You are not in a hurry to do everything all at once, you make sure every goal is given keen attention. This gives you the assurance that your goals are done the best way possible, and you have a better chance of being successful. Valuing quantity on the other hand is doing everything all at once. You make sure that you finish everything at one single blow, giving little thought of how they should be done. You sacrifice the value of giving your best, just to make sure you do everything right. Hence, valuing quantity is a hindrance to being productive.

If you've answered yes to these questions, now is a great time to introspect within yourself, formulate a new game plan and change your course of action.
