Congratulations to Hope Noonan, August Sproul Lanes Student of the Month!
by Liz Burnett
We’re pleased to announce that the August Sproul Lanes Student of the Month is Saint Anastasia School’s rising 8th grader Hope Noonan! To celebrate this recognition, Hope received a Certificate of Achievement and looks forward to enjoying her award: a “Pizza Bowl” party courtesy of Sproul Lanes, our Sponsor of this program.
Hope has found several ways to use her time and talents to serve others. Sometimes that requires Hope to step out of her comfort zone and try something she’s not sure she’ll be good at. An example of such a learning experience is when as a 7th-grader, she played basketball for the first time, on her school’s basketball team. As a team player, Hope learned how to work with others to accomplish goals. Through repeated encouragement from her coach and teammates (who soon become her new friends), she learned that playing her part on the team was important even when she missed attempts to score points. And during a field trip to the U.S. Supreme Court with her coach and teammates, she also learned that, as she expected, there really IS a supremely huge basketball court in that famous landmark!

Another way Hope serves others is by sharing her beautiful singing voice in theatrical and other performances. Last summer, she participated in Media Theater’s Vocalist Junior Competition, and in March, she had a small singing part in MNHS’s production of Cinderella. As Hope continues to develop her talents through vocal lessons and this summer’s Upper Darby Summer Stage program (online), she expects her future will include the performing arts. Her motto is “Don’t give up. There’s no good reason to!”
