Upon Sunrise

Once sunrise occurs, I shake out the sand, and fold my blanket I escaped another night of darkness and whispers

I store my blanket into a travelling sack, slip-on my tongue-less shoes and stretch my legs on flat ground, raising my arms toward the clouds

I don’t know where I’m headed, but have a vague idea that if I read the signs, I will make it to another resting place

IfI could maintain my strength, avoid the disease that lurks in grains of dusty air and spoiled food, I will safely hide between temporary roots and a false sense of security.
