FROM THE DESK OF...

Tom Seigel Superintendent

One of the goals and measures noted in our District's strategic plan is ensuring that all our students are "prepared for success in post-secondary education, career, and life." Ensuring this career and college readiness is something we think of at the high school level, but in reality, it is done at all levels of our district, all the way back to kindergarten and preschool. It is everyone's goal here in Bethel to do their part to set our students up for future success, in and outside of the classroom.

You can see the most recent faces of that success in this year's graduating class. The pride and excitement we see as they cross the graduation stage is a small reward for those that worked hard to help get them there. For some of these students, they are the first in their family to graduate high school. For others, the road to make it to graduation was a tough one, but they persevered, and proved to themselves that they had what it took to close out their high school career. Now, for all of them, it's on to the next step.

Whether they are enlisting in the military, jumping into the job force, or heading to trade school, college or university, I am extremely proud of the work they have done to get to this point in their lives. And my thanks goes out to our staff who guided these students through their preschool through high school years. Whatever roles they've played in students' lives, it is the work our staff have done in the classroom or behind the scenes that has helped pave the way for our students to learn, grow and succeed.

Congratulations to the Class of 2023!

Yours,

Tom Seigel
