RAISE UP A PRAYER ARMY! “Raise up a Prayer Army at Bethel” are the words the Spirit of God spoke to my heart as I prepared for my special Canada Day message on June 30th. As I reviewed the spiritual heritage and Christian foundation our country was established on, it has become so clear that Canada has lost her original vision: Psalm 72:8 “He shall have dominion

Alpha program, the strongest discipleship program in at least 20 years of Bethel’s history. We have seen funds raised for Ukraine to build a house of worship. We had 3 consecutive water baptism services to baptize new believers. Our Alpha Holy Spirit day saw people baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. All of

from sea to sea”. Our national anthem gives voice to the expression of faith our country was founded on: “God keep our land, glorious and free. O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.” Our national anthem is a prayer, but it is more than a prayer. It is a charge. It is a mandate. For us as Canadians to keep the original vision alive.

this, I believe, can be attributed to the times of corporate prayer.

Another verse of Scripture came to me. Psalm 11:3 “If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” I believe the answer comes to us in an often quoted, but less practiced verse in 2 Chronicles 7:14; “If My people who are called by My Name will humble themselves and pray...” Prayer is the answer. In Jeremiah 33:3 God says “Call to Me and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things.” As we started 2013, we set the first 13 days for prayer and fasting, holding 2 prayer meetings a day at the church. We consistently had a good number of people come to these prayer meetings. One Saturday night we had 100 people out to pray. What was the result of all of this prayer? We had a strong release of the prophetic word in our meetings with Jan Painter and Tracy Stewart. With no pre-arranged plan, the Lord led Pastor John Kilpatrick, the Pastor of the greatest revival in American history, to hold meetings at Bethel. We saw 117 people make a profession of faith in Christ at our Heaven’s Gates drama. We saw outstanding miracles through the ministry of Ted Shuttlesworth, including deaf ears healed, blind eye healed, surgery cancelled due to healing, crippling condition healed and more salvations. We had 80 people in our

As summer approached, there has been in my opinion, a letting go in the area of prayer. In my mind, I thought maybe we should just coast through summer and renew an emphasis on prayer in the Fall. But the Spirit of God spoke to my heart that we cannot afford to let prayer “coast along.” “Raise up a prayer army at Bethel” rang in my Spirit. “Do it now!” Now is the time to prepare for what God will do this Fall. We do not want to miss the opportunities God is and will set before us. We must be spiritually alive and ready. Jesus said to His disciples in the garden of Gethsemane, “Could you not pray with me for one hour?” The Spirit of God spoke to me to call our church to commit over the summer months making the Wednesday night prayer hour a top priority. What do you think would happen if everyone who attended church on Sunday would also make a 1 hour time of corporate prayer a summer commitment? I believe God would move and respond in a powerful way. I want to invite you to become a part of a prayer movement at Bethel. Let’s begin by committing to our mid-week prayer hour! Let’s watch and see what God will do as a result! Join me each Wednesday from 6PM to 7PM in our Sanctuary. Your prayer support is valued and needed! - Pastor Tim Gibb

TEACHING NOTES ON PAUL THE APOSTLE & CANADA DAY MESSAGE. Pastor Tim is preparing a special hand-out on his teaching on the Life and Ministry of the Apostle Paul. These notes will be given at no cost and will be ready sometime this summer. In addition, Pastor Tim is also making available the script of his Canada message for those who would be interested. The script will also include some additional notes not given in the Sunday presentation at Bethel. This hand-out will also be available soon. Sign-up at the Welcome Desk if you are interested in receiving one or both of these hand-outs, so we can know how many to prepare.

PASTOR TIM WILL BE TRAVELING TO BRAZIL AND ARGENTINA IN AUGUST. Pastor Tim will be traveling to South America this August 16-28th. He will first be in Recife, Brazil with missionaries Mati & Julie Gali. He will be teaching at a student YWAM school each morning for the week. Then in the evenings, will be ministering in various churches with U.S. Pentecostal missionary, Robert Wellman.
