COMING THIS OCTOBER

WORD FROM PASTOR TIM In January of 2016, our church went through a study called Transformed Life. Transformed Life was a 7 week study on the first 3 chapters of the book of Ephesians with an emphasis on our identity in Christ. We used a devotional book and small group videos from Christian author and Pastor, Dave Smith from London U.K. That series proved to be one of the best message and small group series we have ever done at Bethel. We had so many reports of how people were blessed by it. Dave Smith has recently released a follow-up study. It is on the last 3 chapters of the book of Ephesians and it is called Transformed Living. Where the previous study focused on our identity with Christ, this series deals more with practical living for Christ. As before, this series includes a 50-day devotional book (available for $10) and small group lessons. I will be preaching messages each Sunday morning that will introduce the small group material for that week and also the devotional messages. We will begin this series on Sunday October 14th and will run for 7 weeks until the end of November. I want to encourage everyone at Bethel to get a Transformed Living devotional book and follow along with us each day. As well as, join a small group for the 7 weeks. I believe this will be a great opportunity to grow in the Word and in relationship with other believers at Bethel.

COMING THIS MONTH

BETHEL NEWS MEMBERSHIP Do you desire to become an official member at Bethel? Membership classes will be held on Sunday October 14th and 21st at 9:30AM in our Community Room. Both classes are required. If you are not able to make a class, speak to the church office. Sign-up by calling the office.

DISCIPLESHIP CLASSES Are you new to the Christian Faith? Do you want to be more established in the basics? A discipleship class is available each Sunday morning at 9:20AM in the Office Board Room. This class offers 4 separate teachings that run over 4 Sunday mornings and then are repeated. Contact the Church Office to sign-up to be a part of this mentoring class.

SUNDAY NIGHTS IN OCTOBER Sunday nights in October, we will be continuing the Life Changing Prayer video teaching series by Pastor Jim Cymbala of the Brooklyn Tabernacle Church. Each video will be followed by a time of prayer for needs and for our church & community.

WEDNESDAY PRAYER

COMING IN 2018

We are recessing the Wednesday night prayer meeting until January 2019. In its place, we will be focusing on times of prayer on Sunday nights and through our Transformed Living Small Groups.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT

On Sunday, October 7th we are going to celebrate our new Kids and Youth ministry facilities. This celebration brings to a conclusion our Building Our Future program that began in the Spring of 2015. At that time, our leadership and membership agreed to a plan to raise $1 million over 3 years with the purpose of paying for newly renovated rooms for our Kids and Youth. In addition, we would look to bring our 2010 Renovation loan to under $1 million dollars. I am so pleased to announce that both goals have been realized. This is a wonderful accomplishment that we are very thankful for. For everyone who has contributed to our Building Our Future project, I say a great big “Thank you!” It certainly took all of us believing together in this project and contributing to it that has made this happen. Thank you for investing in your church community and this generation of youth and kids. This church facility was dedicated to the glory of God when it was constructed in

1980 (there is a cornerstone in our lobby with an inscription). Certainly this project has and will bring glory to God in the testimony of people who desire to see the house of God in good and functioning condition, and in serving the purpose for which this work has been done. For it is not just about walls and design, it is all about having good ministry spaces to bring young people into the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. In this, God will be forever glorified. I want to give special recognition to Chris Guerette who has served so well as our project coordinator. Chris has put in many hours of volunteer service, working with our Contractor, leading on all aspects of this project. We are very thankful for Chris’s leadership and commitment to this project. As well, Pastor Tricia was heavily involved in all aspects of this project as well. We thank Tricia for her many extra hours and attention to this project. I would also like to publicly thank Brian Gagnon and James Bird who have also put multiple hours in working with lighting and sound set-up in our new Youth facility. Thanks to our Elders and Deacons who all helped in making this project a reality.

For those who still wish to contribute to our building program or complete their Building Our Future commitment, we appreciate your continued support. We do have a few extra costs that are outside of the budget for the Building Our Future project and some facility needs (ie: new heating and cooling units, parking lot issues) that will need attention soon. Thank you for your consideration in this in your giving. We are very blessed at Bethel to have a wonderful facility in which the ministry of this church can function. I am impressed with the faith of our church congregation in 1980 who built this building we are in. I am pleased that the same spirit of faith continues today through our current church family. We are well positioned for years to come to continue to be a message to our city of hope and life through Jesus Christ.
