The NE GLRS STORY

Student Success: Imagine the Possibilities The Northeast Georgia Story

What’s your story? Everybody has a story! What’s your story? Who are the characters in your story? What happened in your story? Is it a tragedy? Or a Love Story? A Murder Mystery? Or a Drama? Do you like your story? But particular, do you like the ending to your story? Do you wish you could go back and re-write a few chapters? Sure, we all do! We may not be able to go back and re-write our story but with the start of each new school year we can write a new story. Do you want your new story to have a different ending?

If so….then something has to change You cannot re-write the same story and expect the ending to be different… Einstein said…

“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.” IN OTHER WORDS… We cannot keep doing the same thing and expect to get a different result

think of your students as Apples…like GLRS apples  Is it enough to look at your “apples” as a group?

Collage of apples

Is it enough to look at your “apples” individually?

You have to get down to the Core of the problem! The apple core!

Our Story Northeast Georgia NE GLRS is a contributing member of the NE GA RESA organization. Narrative Summary of Table  Narrative Summary of Demographic Data:  Department of Education March 2014 FTE data were used to review regional demographic data for school year 2013-14. The review found that 6 of 13 school systems experienced growth, though not substantive, in student enrollment including Barrow, Clarke, Greene Jackson, Jefferson City, and Morgan. Although not substantive, the remaining systems experienced a decrease in growth from March 2013-14. Subgroups remained stable over for the past eight years.  A review of Free and Reduced data from Department of Education October 2013 (most recent) found increases, though not substantive, in the percentage of students qualifying as free and reduced lunch in 2 of 13 systems. Four systems had 2% decreases each. Remaining systems had no change.
