Centennial Challah Bake: A Hundred Measures of Gratitude Wednesday, January 12, 7 pm

Join Beth Tfiloh women of all ages for this special Centennial Challah Bake as we express a hundred measures of gratitude. Morah Faigie Friedman and Dr. Zipora Schorr will share their expert techniques and everyone’s favorite challah recipe, as well as the inspiration that unites women to bake challah. Let us use this time to give thanks and gratitude as we celebrate Beth Tfiloh reaching 100 years. Don’t miss this memorable evening! Limited registration. Use the High School building entrance This documentary by Rabbi Mordechai Vardi of Kibbutz Rosh Zurim shares the stories of three men and two women who marry against their sexual orientation to fulfill familial, religious and cultural expectations. In partnership with Eshel*, a panel of American Jewish community members similar to the subjects of this Israeli film will share the realities faced by Orthodox LGBT+ Jews in our local communities. Registration online or at the door. Light coffee and dessert reception to follow in Mintzes Theater lobby. *Eshel is a support, education and advocacy organization for Orthodox LGBT+ Jews and their families.

Rabbi Posner’s Installation Shabbat Friday, March 4-Saturday, March 5

Welcome Rabbi Chai Posner as Beth Tfiloh’s new senior rabbi with an inspiring musical Shabbat led by Rabbi Shlomo Katz. Enjoy a meaningful Shabbatonlike experience with members of our diverse shul community and programming for congregants of all ages. The weekend concludes with Rabbi Posner’s official installation including Havdallah, a festive light meal, dessert and a concert.

A Centennial Evening of Celebration Sunday, April 3, time TBA

It’s our 100th birthday and we are celebrating in style! Enjoy an elegant reception of hors d’oeuvres and cocktails, moving tributes and presentations about Beth Tfiloh’s monumental first century, special guest speakers, live musical entertainment with Carnegie Hall musicians Amit Peled (cellist) and Solomon Eichner (pianist), and more.
