Our Business Story – an Overview. From humble beginnings, BSR Group has grown considerably and now has its head office in Brisbane, Queensland. BSR Group employs approximately 50 employees across 4 main departments, including merchandising, digital, IT and operations. BSR Franchising Pty Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of BSR Australia Ltd, a public unlisted company, the shares in which are held exclusively by retailers associated with the Group. This structure provides genuine ownership for retailers, and engenders a rigor in the way that BSR Group conducts its business and delivers its services. In the last five years, Betta has redefined its position in the marketplace and shown itself to be a progressive business. Some notable achievements in that period include: 2010 – New CEO appointed 2010 – Key personnel employed in the merchandising team 2011 – BSR joined NARTA, the LARGEST independent buying group in Australasia 2011 - New core ranging program implemented 2011 - Online trading commenced 2012 - Integration of Retravision stores 2013 - Store rebrand project completed As a proud member of NARTA (the National Associated Retail Traders of Australia), BSR benefits from NARTA’s buying power gained through purchases exceeding $3 Billion (AU) annually.
A Brand with Heritage. In 1961, seven local independent retailers came together to combat rival electrical retail groups and formed the Brisbane Electrical Television Traders Association (BETTA). Since then, Betta has built a solid reputation on delivering superior customer service, providing us with a major advantage in the market. With over 50 years’ experience in retailing we really know how to service our customers’ needs.
Our Franchise Culture. Most of our franchise operators live close to their stores and develop close ties within their local community. Many franchisees choose to invest a portion of their profit by spending it within their local community, thereby generating additional business opportunities and valuable goodwill within their community. Local business connections are often created by franchisees through establishing relationships with local businesses e.g. local transport companies who arrange for delivery of product to customers, local tradesmen who provide installation services to customers, local media providers. Important community connections are also often created by franchisees supporting their local sporting clubs, schools and charities.

over the recent death of her son is desperately searching $ for his missing mobile phone.0.75 Daily Rental Min. rental before Hellen Callinicos’ 41-yearupgrade $263.35 old son, Gabriel, died when his car crashed into a tree in Rowans Rd Moorabbin after suffering a heart attack while driving last month. Mrs Callinicos had expected the small black Nokia 301 to be handed back to her along with his other belongings after police had cleared the car, but it wasn’t there. She fears the phone, full of photos and messages, was flung from the car and picked up by a stranger. “It’s like finding a body without a head, I just really want the phone back,” Mrs Callinicos said. Anyone who might have seen it or picked it up is urged to return it to Mrs Callinicos. “It would mean the world to me to see all the messages he sent to me, so that I can read them and remember him,” she said. “Because I will never get another one again.” Moorabbin Highway Patrol Senior Constable Antony Tannenbaum confirmed police hadn’t found a phone on Mr Callinicos or in his car. He said the phone might have been ejected on impact. Anyone with information can contact Debbie on 0408 373 211.

DOORKNOCK APPEAL TO UPDATE LIFESAVERS’ OLD HOUSE Nicole Precel
BLACK ROCK Life Saving Club is appealing to the community to help rebuild their run-down clubhouse. Club secretary Graeme Eddiehausen said there will be a doorknock appeal on March 21-22 to raise money to fix their Beach Rd clubhouse. He said it would cost about $2 million to build a new clubhouse. It was built in the 1920s and community demands on the lifesaving club had

grown massively since then, he said. The clubhouse was originally a small beachside hut, which has had a couple of extensions either side, but to accommodate about 300 members and make it more accessible, it now needs a rebuild. “It’s not very functional. The original core of the clubhouse is in disrepair really, and unfortunately with the (February 28) storm, we sustained more damage.” He said that the roller door and roof panels were

blown off in the winds. “We’re in the process of trying to get that fixed so the building is secure and safe,” he said. “We need to replace it with something which is energy efficient and functional for a range of community uses,” he said. Mr Eddiehausen said the club often had requests from schools to run water safety sessions, or charity walks asking to use it as a base. Bayside Council director of corporate services Mick Cummins said the club had
approached the council for financial help to rebuild the clubhouse, but the council was unable to help. “This facility is not included in council’s four-year capital works program,” he said. “The maintenance and renewal of Life Saving clubhouses is the responsibility of the individual club in partnership with Life Saving Victoria.” For more details about Black Rock Life Saving Club will run a doorknock appeal go to: brlsc.org.au

Our Forums and Conferences. Our National Buying Forums are held twice a year and allow our franchisees to connect with each other, head office staff and supplier representatives, as well as access the latest pricing deals which are achieved through our collated ordering system.
A Conference is held annually and has previously been held in exciting locations such as Canada, Madrid, Hong Kong & Los Angeles. The Conference provides an opportunity to engage in professional development and to also focus on relationships with key stakeholders. We also believe in motivating and celebrating all our franchisees at our conference, and awards are presented annually to retailers at the Conference.
Your Investment and Our Support. The initial investment in your Betta franchise depends on the expected turnover of your store. The potential return will also depend on whether you can fund the business yourself or whether you will need finance. An estimated start up cost sheet is included in this information pack, which details the fees and what is required to establish a Betta Home Living franchise. The most important variable in the level of success you will achieve is in fact you! Franchisees consist of people, and no two people are the same. We can provide you with our proven system, name and the business tools and support necessary to operate but your reward is ultimately determined by your diligence and commitment to your business.
