Letter from the Publisher

Dear Readers,

It’s been a long summer, but now Fall is officially here. There has been a slight tease of cooler autumn temps in the last couple of weeks. I am anticipating the winter weather here in Florida!

I want to thank those of you who sent me such nice messages about our Summer Issue. We are now in our eleventh year of publishing in St. Lucie County and I have so much appreciation for our readers, advertisers and contributors. I am starting to say, “We are growing older together” It is my pleasure to offer you this issue’s feature article about the Port St. Lucie Vietnam Veterans of America. I was introduced to VVA President, Mike Kiper and Treasurer, Brian Ford by Helen Couluris who fiercely volunteers to help Vets. I thoroughly enjoyed the meeting and love the fact that they help all Veterans. What terrific people.

“Being able to speak your mind can’t happen unless you feel safe enough to be honest.” I just read that somewhere and I wrote it down. Perfect timing. The United States just celebrated the 231st Anniversary of the 1st Amendment, and those constitutional rights are afforded to all of us.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” NIV

Beatitude, Matthew 5:9

United we stand, divided we fall.

more community events on our calendar to share. frustrating to google something and not get our question answered or be directed to irrelevant content. There is no substitute for those old, obsolete books! For instance, when I was searching for information about the 19th amendment, I just couldn’t believe what information came up on some of my searches. I’m looking for the whole puzzle, not just a couple of pieces.

November 11th, we celebrate Veteran’s Day. I give my unwavering thanks and support to Veterans.

Please find a Veteran to thank.

Believe. There is always something to be grateful for. Wishing you a Happy & Blessed Thanksgiving!

God bless,
