irst out of the gate… Announcing the safe and healthy arrival of my new grandson, Wyatt James. He was born on April 10th and looked a little like Yoda. tA month and a half later, he is a handsome boy angel. Olivia is now a big sister and loving it, and, I am in love all over again.

What do you have on the summer schedule? School is out. Will you hit the road, relax, have visitors, or perhaps enjoy some Staycationing? My plan is to do all four. I am especially looking forward to heading north and seeing family that I have not seen in many years. Very excited! As I always say, whatever you do, make it happy. Nick explained: “Every day has a new personality and the community has its own taste. Some people like the wraps, and some people prefer the bowls.” So many enticing options, all fresh and natural. The Mission Beach Bagel, ($8), sounded tasty and it was - a large warm

toasted Everything bagel with tuna salad, avocado, cream cheese, tomato, cucumber and sprouts. I think The Tex Mex Salad ($10.50) provided the entire daily requirement of vegetables! Made with chicken, loads of greens and fresh toppings with a bright and creamy avocado dressing. Any wrap ($9.50) can also be a salad. The Secrets of MCT Oil M

y discovery of MCT oil is actually a funny story. I was watching the series Supergirl (yes I love superheroes, lol) and the lead told her assistant to get her a bulletproof coffee because she had brain fog. I figured it was a fictional name. After googling I was obsessed with learning about this amazing drink that was created by Dave Asprey, now known as The Bulletproof guy! His story is inspiring; he lost over 100 pounds and created a diet plan on this miracle oil. When he started promoting this oil many years ago it got the attention of many famous actors. All the promises of weight loss and energy were discovered and to be backed by science. As I hope all my readers know that all fat was not created equal. MCT oil, which is derived from coconut oil, is one of the good guys. What makes MCTs a top source of essential healthy fats? Medium-chain fats are digested easily and sent directly to your liver, where they have a thermogenic effect and the ability to positively alter your metabolism. This is one reason why many people claim that MCTs, including coconut oil, are burned by the body for energy, or “fuel,” instead of being stored as fat. Compared to longer-chain fats, MCTs are absorbed more easily

since there’s less work for the body to do breaking apart carbon bonds. MCTs are smaller, so they can permeate our cell membranes more easily and don’t require that we use special enzymes in order for our bodies to utilize them. MCTs and saturated fats are good for you in other ways, too: They reduce the risks of low-fat diets, and they’re supportive of your gut environment, especially since they have the capability to combat harmful bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites. Our Story

n 2011, the idea for the Treasure Coast Hope For The Homeless Foundation was born after a group of four girls, Karina Del Toro (age 10), Alexandria Del Toro (age 7), Kayleigh Cunningham (age 10), Mallory Cunningham (age 8), and Ivy Cunningham (age 3) decided to help those in need and less fortunate. At first, the girls tried to raise funds for the homeless by holding lemonade stands and selling used and donated jewelry at various garage sales. Innocently, the girls believed people were homeless because they did not have jobs and their circumstances did not allow them to dress appropriately for future job opportunities. As they continued to foster their dream of helping those less fortunate, the girls began asking family, friends, and neighbors to donate used business clothing in an effort to provide the homeless with the chance to succeed in obtaining employment. As their vision and passion for helping others continued to grow, the girls also felt low income families had needs as well. With the blessings and support of Morningside Church located in Port St. Lucie, FL, the girls established a clothing drop off box just outside the children’s ministries. Over the past several years hundreds of bags full of clothing and hygiene products were collected and distributed to various non-profit organizations within the community.

The Great Treasure Hunt

f you’ve ever wondered why they call this the Treasure Coast, this is your chance to get up close and personal with the dramatic history of our coastline. It all started in July 1715 when a fleet of twelve Spanish ships left Havana for the long voyage back to Spain. They were loaded down with silver, gold, and all manner of precious jewels. But…they didn’t get very far. Right along our coast, they encountered the raging winds and pounding waves of a hurricane! All but one of the ships was lost, and the precious cargo spilled onto the ocean floor. Spain immediately began salvage operations, but to no avail. Only some of the bounty was recovered – the remainder hidden beneath the roaring waves. However, in 1948, a man strolling the beaches near Sebastian Inlet found several gold coins and set off a series of treasure hunting adventures that continue today. Beginning in mid June Christian FM will kick off The Great Treasure Hunt…a chance for you to win Real Spanish Treasure! Every

treasure hunter must register for their hunting license at www.christianfm.com and then begin listening for clues on the air in order to find a key. A total of seven keys will be hidden along the entire Treasure Coast over a period of several weeks. Every key finder will win a piece of Real Spanish Treasure, however, only one key will unlock the Mother lode of Real Spanish Treasure (worth thousands of dollars) from our partner West Bay Trading Company! Awareness, “Change” Awareness, W Awareness!

arents have to know how and why they are reacting the way they are before they can consciously change it. Most often, individuals are unaware of their response to a situation or scenario and, more importantly, they are unaware of the conscious and subconscious factors that influence their responses. If a parent is struggling with managing negative emotions regarding the fact their child is doing poorly in school, for example, let’s look more deeply at the parent. Did the parent also struggle in school? Are the parents’ expectations too high and unobtainable for the child? We all like to think that our children are all-stars and will be Nobel prize winners, but the reality is that most often we as humans are good at a lot of things, but NOT everything. Therefore, if a child is struggling with math, then maybe extra tutoring is needed – instead of the expectation that the child excels in all areas, so why not in math? On the flip side, there is the concept of transference and counter transference. Maybe the parents’ negative reactions are stemming from their own frustrations of not being able to support or guide their child. Maybe they’ve always struggled with math, and now that they need to teach, they are reacting to it the same way they were taught…with frustration and unrealistic expectations. So, the bottom line is that you need to check yourself first. Understand why you feel the way you do in regard to your child’s situation. If you understand why you are reacting the way you are, then you can proactively change the reaction to a healthy and constructive response. Yet according to Scripture, at the moment of baptism, it is like a watershed from death to life. It is the most important moment in a person’s life. How can that be?
