There's a lot of talks that are going around between manual and automation testing regarding automation taking over manual testing. But the reality is far from the truth even though automation looks like a faster and cheaper testing procedure it still has a long way to go to catch up with manual testing. Here are some of the reasons why automated testing won't replace manual testing.

1. Usability Usability testing requires a human tester and it Testing

is just not possible to automate the usability testing. One of the biggest reasons why usability testing can't be automated is that it is hard to train a computer to the difference between good and bad usability. And there is no space where a application tester can decide to skip the usability testing as this means introducing a tremendous amount of risk. This step is crucial for software as it gives confidence in the release, and there's no other way to ensure this without involving a human being.

2. Predictability of Automation Testing The predictability of automation testing is one of the biggest reasons why it won't replace manual testing. Computers are programmed to deliver what is expected and can't deliver something extra which means easy predictions. The coverage of automation vast but isnot deep and f ocuses on that f unctionalit already exists. When it y comes to regression testing there is no other alternative to automation testing when on limited resources. But only relying solely on automation testing will leave some

3. Exploratory Testers Here is a little truth that we all have to admit that we do software testing whether have a tester or QA as your title or not. Exploratory testing is not possible with automation as it allows us to test the areas of the application or software that automation testing doesn't test. Exploratory testing is a manual testing process in which a tester tests possibilities depending upon their own experiences which is difficult to automate.

4. Bugs/Errors in Automation Testing Similar to the application's code automated test results contain bugs or errors too. While writing automated test programming if a tester makes a mistake, this means that the results of the tests will also contain bugs. This can create problems for the testing team and customers as well. However, in manual testing, a tester can identify these bugs and check that you are testing properly.
