We've stuffed it with décor tips, festive cocktails and decadent food, to hopefully inspire you to have a Very Vanderpump holiday season! From blackberry & pear crumbles to delicious sides that accompany your turkey at Christmas, we've linked some fabulous food for you to wow and entertain your guests with at your next soirée. We've been working hard to create a variety of incredible cocktails, ranging from light and fragrant to rich and laden with festive flavors, so that you can cheers your friends and family! Our world has experienced some extremely devastating trials in the past year and so many people have had their lives destroyed or affected in ways we cannot even imagine. The destruction the natural disasters have wrought on the world is shocking and has left us heartbroken for those affected. It’s in times like these that we recognize that nothing is set in stone and we can never know what is around the next corner. The only thing we can do is to hold tight to our loved ones, celebrate the good things in life, and try to give back and make change wherever we can. We urge you to reach out to disaster relief organizations and to contribute to causes that you believe in. The holidays are a meaningful and memorable time, with much to celebrate. We hope that you are uplifted by this magazine, and that it provides a much-needed relief from the cares of the world. It’s so important to appreciate the wonderful things in life too and to embrace them as fully as we can, as we never know when they will slip away. he holidays are our favorite time of year. ‘Tis the season to embrace your family, reminisce on the past year, and get excited for the year to come. We are so grateful each year for friends and family, and love to celebrate them by creating an incredible space for us to congregate and make merry. I adore adorning my home and creating an atmosphere of over-stuffed Christmas cheer. There’s no better feeling in the world than walking into a house that is warm, softly playing holiday music, twinkling with Christmas lights, and shimmering with ornaments and gifts for my loved ones. Here are some of our tips for creating a stunning environment for your holiday season! Festive Decadence. The sight that greets you as you walk through the glass doors into our home during the holidays is one of festive fun and decadence. I relish creating a show-stopping tree that the family can gather around during Christmas and, luckily, our main living room has ceilings high enough to accommodate! The holidays are the perfect time of year to indulge your extravagance – over-the-top Christmas decorations just add to the spirit of the season. Overstuff your trees, sneak festive details into unexpected corners of your home, and embrace the

Use Your Presents. I love to wrap
my presents in the most gorgeous way imaginable –I mean, they’re going to spend days under your tree, so you might as well make them part of the décor! A fabulous, thick, velvety bow looks incredible under your tree - plus, who wouldn’t want to receive something that’s so beautifully adorned? In years where we’ve had to be a little more frugal, I’ve enjoyed cutting fabric into strips and spraying the edges with glitter, then folding it into a floppy lavish bow!xo

Unexpected
elements. It’s the little things that really make a difference and wow your guests – and most of them are so simple. I love to dip both real and fake flowers in glitter and add them to my arrangements. Often, as my arrangements are so large, they are filled with a lot of greenery, a few fresh flowers, and gilded fake flowers – it’s an easy way to create over-the-top stunning arrangements without breaking the bank each year! I also fill gorgeous bowls with shimmering ornaments, tie over-sized velvet bows around my vases to add a decadent touch, and fill my home with flavored candles – who doesn’t love the smell of cinnamon and pumpkin spice filling their home?

Christmas Color. Think quite careful-
ly about the colors you use in your tree, and pay attention to where it’s positioned in your home. I try not to go too overly-feminine with our main tree, as it’s in the center of the house, and pepper in dark purples and metallics to offset the pinks. Our kitchen tree is muted as well, as it’s the focal point of our home and where we spend the most time. I decorate with pale blues or lilacs, white and silver – it’s a very delicate, neutral tree that’s easy to be around throughout the holiday season.

Now, that’s not to say I don’t embrace my love of pink too! Our Rococo-inspired tree in the formal living room is overstuffed, decadent and dripping with femininity. I mix pale gold and silver with various shades of pink ornaments in velvet, feathers and different textures. Such an indulgent, beautiful tree!

The
Christmas Table.
I take great pleasure in decorating my Christmas table, and it’s a fabulous place to experiment with new colors and ideas. Last year, I found some incredible Christmas Crackers (an English staple!), in a beautiful array of cream and gold with black ribbons so, instead of my usual pale pink tablescape, I opted for a slightly funkier mix of black, cream, taupe, metallics and rich red roses. To keep it elegant and feminine, I did use pale pink and gold plates, to soften the look up a bit. After hours in the kitchen, it was such fun sitting down to this beautiful set up! My Christmas table is set for the whole month of December and it really adds to the festive feeling in our home. If you have two dining tables, why not keep one decorated for the holidays throughout the weeks leading up to your Christmas meal? If you don’t have two tables, you can still get the same effect by dressing up a bar cart or a kitchen island!

Keep collecting. Every year, I add a little bit more to my holiday dĂŠcor collection. I collect glitter-dipped flowers, velvet bows, ornaments, and each year I re-use them, while adding in a few new elements to keep it fresh!

Unique Place Settings. I love adding special touches to my holiday tables – it makes the guests feel welcomed and draws their attention to the beauty of the table. One easy way to do this is to wrap a small gift for each guest and place it on their plate – use glittering boxes or bows in silver and gold so that the present matches the rest of the décor! Another way is to use tiny crystal frames with your guests’ names in them instead of place cards!

THE ART OF THE
HOT TODDY
There's nothing better than a cozy Hot Toddy in the cold of winter. Cozy up with a faux fur blanket on your lap, light a fire in the fireplace, and warm your soul with a lightly spiked mug of goodness! The classic way to make one is to mix whiskey with hot water, honey and spices. However, there are so many variations of the traditional drink that you can basically make them however you'd like! I love the classic with a touch of lemon and cinnamon; I also love adding a splash of something to a tea you love, with honey and lemon! You can even experiment with the liquor - dark rum makes for an interesting cup! This is one of my new favorites, as it is relatively classic, but has a few twists. I brew fresh mint tea with mint from my herb garden, add a spiced honey syrup so it's less sweet, a touch of lemon and bourbon! Enjoy!
FRESH MINT TODDY Ingredients 1.5 oz Bourbon 3-5 oz of Fresh Mint Tea (depending on size of mug) Squeeze of fresh lemon Spiced Honey Syrup to taste Mint to garnish Cinnamon Stick
Preparation 1. Warm the whiskey by placing it in a small heat-proof bowl over a pot of simmering water for a few minutes. Don't let it boil. 2.When warm, stir in the Spiced Honey Syrup. 3. Squeeze in the lemon. 4. Pour into your mug. 5. Top with tea. 6. Stir with a cinnamon stick. Spiced Honey Syrup : Making a flavored honey syrup is very simple! Add 1 part honey to 2 parts water into a saucepan. Throw in a dash of nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves, to taste. Slowly bring up to just below a boil, then simmer on a low heat for 5-6 minutes. Fresh M int Tea: Add 10-12 fresh Mint leaves to a teapot with boiling water. Let steep for 5 minutes.

PREPARATION IS When it comes to entertaining, it is 100% true that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. The last thing you need to be doing is scrambling around at the last minute trying to fix everything that’s gone wrong because you rushed it. Here is a 5-step mantra to get you through the preparation without a hitch and let you enjoy your fabulous gathering instead of stressing out! Plan. Plan your menu ahead of time. Write it all down, in the order of how it is going to be served. Make sure it is a balanced menu that will please all of your guests and make sure you have all the necessary ingredients. Pre -make . Anything that can be made ahead should be. Sauces that can be made the day before should be made and simply re-heated on the day. Many items of food even taste better the next day, so don’t worry about your guests even knowing. Anything you can do in advance to ease up the last-minute preparation will save you a lot of mental anguish 15 minutes before your guests arrive. Pre -pare. Prepare the garnishes in advance. Parsley, basil and other herbs can be washed and chopped the day before and stored until you are ready to decorate your plates. Draw a little sketch of each course and how you want to prepare your dishes, so at the last minute all you have to do is follow your own instructions. Pre -prep. Any prep work you can do the day before, should be done the day before. Vegetables that won’t brown can be chopped and stored until ready to use. Measuring and peeling can all be done in advance. Saving yourself even 10 minutes can seriously change your mindset on the day of your event. Pre -set. Pre-setting the table not only takes the pressure off on the day of your gathering, it also allows you to make sure you have everything on the table that you will need during your meal. Take the time to do this the morning of or even the day before your event and you will thank yourself when you are scrambling to get everything in order at the last minute.
Proper T able Settings. Why put so much effort into making the food look and taste delicious if you are just going to pop it on a table and serve it indifferently? The precision of a proper table setting lets your guests know that you have taken the time and care to really make your event special. Take a few moments to lay out napkins, silverware and glasses in the right places to add a touch of formality to your dinner. Serving P ieces. Even if your china is quite simple, collecting beautiful serving pieces can really re-invent your tablescape. They don’t have to cost a fortune—the place that has the most incredible serving pieces is very often the local flea market! Gorgeous, antique trays, cakestands and platters can wow your guests and showcase your beautiful food perfectly. Take the time to hunt down these elements, and add a little pizzazz to your table. Keep Your Canvas Simple. One of the most important things you can do to ensure your décor is really appreciated is to make sure it makes the maximum impact. Keeping your tablecloth or tabletop white means you can add color in the right places to really make an impression. Flowers, napkins, and table runners are all places that can use wonderful colors that pop against a white background. The same applies to food; serve colorful food on a white plate to really make a statement. No P lastic. This is a rule that is essential. You have spent all this time setting your table, coordinating your colors and adding special touches—ruining it with an ugly ketchup or water bottle just isn’t in the cards. Pour water into a glass pitcher; pour condiments into little serving bowls or jugs; put salt and pepper into shakers or tiny bowls. It’s an extremely simple way to make your dinner just that little extra bit sexier.
