MCE 85 BA
Constantly brilliant Recording Quality The DC/DC converter (MCE 85 BA) ensures that the microphone signal remains constant even if the battery power starts to decrease, guaranteeing consistent, brilliant recording quality. An LED indicates the battery status every time you switch the microphone on.
160 h Battery Operation With a battery life of 160 hours, the MCE 85 BA is prepared for lengthy recording sessions and long trips even without phantom power. The ON-OFF switch saves energy and prevents the battery from draining if you are not using the microphone for a longer period of time.
Transducer type Operating principle Frequency response Polar pattern Nominal impedance Load impedance Max. SPL at 1 kHz Signal-to-noise ratio rel. to 1 Pa Power supply
Condenser (back electret) Pressure gradient 34 - 19,000 Hz Supercardioid / Lobe 20 Ω ≥ 100 Ω 115 dB 74 dB (A-weighted, RMS) 11 - 52 V phantom power or 1.5 V battery (Mignon AA/LR 6) Current consumption 3.7 mA / 20 mA (battery) Operating time with battery 160 h type LR 6 (2300 mAh) Connection 3-pin XLR, male Dimensions Length 284 mm Diameter 23 mm Weight (without cable and battery) 110 g
Low Cut Filter The low cut filter can be switched on and off and eliminates low frequencies and compensates for mechanical vibrations and proximity effect. This ensures that you get the optimum sound even when using the MCE 85 as a handheld microphone.
Smart Design The noble aluminium housing makes the MCE 85 an extremely durable yet lightweight microphone and the high-quality matt coating prevents reflections.
Maximum Attenuation of Ambient Noise The supercardioid/lobe polar pattern ensures targeted and exceptionally precise recordings even in loud environments.
