She obtained Bachelor of Science degree in Child and Family Development from Benedict College, Columbia, SC and Master of Social Work from the University of South Carolina, She is the founder of Love Zone Ministries and The Zone Service Inc. Treca DeShields loves serving her community by outreach, hospitality, and love.

Treca DeShields

In March 1990 Treca’s life was transformed in more ways than one. She suffered a brutal assault during which she was stabbed nine times, a hair’s breadth from death when one of the wounds almost severed a main artery in her neck Prior to the incident that left her physically and emotionally scarred, Treca was at a spiritual crossroads in her life. She contemplated completely surrendering to God but was unable to make a full commitment. A near-death experience on the operating table after she was stabbed left her with an ultimatum from God – she could remain in the afterlife, or she could return and spend her renewed life serving God. She chose the latter.
