So if you ARE going to try this shot, you play the driver like you would play a long iron, with the ball roughly in the center of your stance I say “roughly” because depending on the player it might be a little forward or back, but just a little It will NOT be off your left heel or your left instep

If the amount of backspin is low, the ratio of sidespin to backspin will be higher, thus the tendency to slice relative to go up and far becomes greater When you use a 3 wood, since it puts more backspin on the ball, the tendency is greater for the ball to go up and far, relative to the tendency of your sidespin to cause a slice. You’ll still slice, but the “slice effect” will be less.
