*During my projects, to imagine places, relations, spaces, I use different techniques. Every time, It starts with a question and then my hands are seeking answers which are a few points of many possibilities by practising collages, models, drawings and various tools. These questions eventually refer to and bring unrelated, independent situations together.

‘‘Existence precedes essence. ‘‘ Jean Paul Sartre Existence comes before essence. Nature exists first and finds its essence by human being. Its purpose of existence is unclear. It is defined later

The approach to nature as something unchanged by human beings throughout the centuries. The view of ‘’nature is a raw material for humans’’, as a human-centred perspective, keeps under control political, social, cultural and economical structures. With the industrial revolution, but particularly in the 20th century, the supply of goods dramatically increased beyond overconsumption. Nowadays, in common sense, consumption has become the individual’s reason for existence and has originated with a forgotten fact that nature exists. The Golden Horn is a great example of being a paradigm shift, from a natural factor to an industrial scWar. In its historical and social background, it was a port, before it was defined as a recreation area during Byzantian and later Ottoman period. In the 20th century, industrialization has given an undefined, fragmented and contaminated character to Haliç, by leaving critical impacts on the urban dynamic. Nature Exists examines how an ecological awareness redefines the relation between nature and human-being in the consumption and information society. Taking the edge of Golden Horn as a point of shift, it proposes an open laboratory, where production and research of ecological materials are allowed to see how to act to nature without a source of raw materials by sharing daily activities and existent knowledge of different departments.

It redefines the human-being approach to nature by using existing knowledge. The structure of the building is made of “I”recycled steel beams and columns, while the façade is made of large wooden louvers that allow the air to flow through its gaps. Wooden louvers allow open and closed workspaces during deep focus and sharing information between different departments.
WORKSHOPS
Workshop places explore how the everyday knowledge of daily activities could open up discussions on design and ecology to other experts and the broader public, necessary to address contemporary challenges.
29

LIVING UNITS Living units carry out ecological aspects in more related to a public and private connection. It proposes a place to live in common. There are three buildings including six private rooms where can adapt for temporary staying on the first floor. On the ground floor, it communicates openly with the common garden and shared places as the kitchen and the laundry. The shared kitchen can be opened to public space by wooden louvres to outside on the ground level.

34 Izmir is a port city. Recently, the urban fringe has been disproportionately shifted in a short time because of the uncontrolled population growth and city plans which have never unrealized. Güzelyalı has under the effort to centralize with new public spaces. The manifesto is an ironic answer to that current situation by splitting which including substances linked to challenges. .Shifting urban fringe by new architecture projects / .Non-transportation / non-access / non-crossing Questioning current architectural productions Looking for walking action, reaching somewhere and duration .In residential areas, the pixaleted place is a flat which includes less actions .Borders between public and private spaces / and connections. Breaking borders looking for how could spread in the city .Passiveness of events and actions,single-function systems/ By considering the articles a private space can be open as a public space Open up what is the system and consideration of a space according to which through connections between them? kind of actions and events. .Public Space in a residential district .Human scale mismatch/ Does a public space need a huge space? By breaking the rules as human scale Analysis of human physical and biological interaction with the environment mismatch and strict boundaries between public and private spaces, public space can be considered in some pixaleted, places as in ownership.
What makes a space? Space can be defined according to different disciplines. How can a space be defined in architecture? Space could be considered a physical fact. While a system formed by the convergence of elements of similar size on different planes remains undefined in terms of space, it can only include a description of the actions and users, depeding on where a space is located.
Güzelyalı was a residential area located in the urban fringe of Izmir, which was formed as a port city, it shifted from the fringe to the center with additions of public structures due to the unplanned and uncontrolled population and construction of the city. The last stop of Izmir was changed to the art center includes a two-day usage period within the events. Göztepe stadium built for 20000 people instead of sports facilities. ADD-IT is an architectural program challenge how mega-structures change the dynamics of the residential area periodically can adapt to this area and how it can be integrated into the use of habitats. The usage schedules of the mega structures are hacked and redefined with new functions that support their potential. The platform of the art center is redefined with the music, wood, recycling, painting and fashion workshops. The façade on the widest street of the stadium makes the connection between the two main streets with accommodation, co-working, offices, meeting rooms, neighboring gardens and library open the isolated use of the stadium to the city. As a result, ADD - IT is included in the city by individualizing, criticizing, redefining its functions and users, in mega public spaces.
