The 30' Gothic Style house is the workhorse of our product line. It's an ideal year-round structure, featuring 1.66" 14 ga. bows spaced 4' on center. Bows may be spaced on 6' centers which reduces the cost by approximately 33% on the frame where no snow loads will be incurred or if the poly is taken off during the winter. Optional crossbar assemblies, extended stakes and wind bracing packages are available. Five purlins are available as an option for extra runs of hanging baskets. Shade Systems Greenhouse Applications The type of crops grown will generally determine whether a black out system or a partial shade system will best suit your needs. All VRE systems will provide some level of heat retention dependant on the cover fabric qualities. 1. Blackout or Short Day Length Control Fabrics These will provide the total light control required to produce crops such as chrysanthemums, begonias, and kalanchoe year round. These generally include a porous, two-layer fabric for the top covers with a reflective top surface. Generally fabric for the vertical side walls and gable end coverage are nonporous and are installed as center roll-up walls. 2. Shade Fabrics These can be utilized for any crop. The most common types are made of alternating strips of clear and aluminized polyester which are available in 15% to 85% shade value percentages to suit the application.

Climate Screens with Firebreak XLS Obscura Firebreak – Blackout and energy savings with a firebreak on every screen.

STRUCTURES

For controlling day length, the double layered XLS Obscura Firebreak brings 99.9% blackout with approximately 16” of firebreak along both sides to limit screen-to-screen fire spread. When properly installed, this provides approximately 32” of firebreak between adjacent screens. All Svensson inside screens can be used under all types of greenhouse cover. The aluminum upper layer reflects sunlight but retains heat at night. Choosing a white under layer intensifies supplemental lighting. Their unique knitted structure reduces condensation and allows them to be bundled to a small size for maximum available light.

XLS Firebreak XLS Firebreak, an improved version of XLS climate screens, is intended to limit screen-to-screen fire spread with a firebreak section along both edges of each screen, effectively doubling the firebreak area across two adjacent screens. XLS Firebreak is used in flat, sliding systems partially containing fire-resistant support wires to achieve intended fire limiting performance.

There are three ways of installing retractable shade: 1. Exterior retractable shade (an Abri system): This shade goes high above the structure and won’t interfere with vents. Subirrigation lowers the humidity in the greenhouse by reducing the free water. Airborne diseases are all but eliminated because the foliage stays dry. Grow drier than you ever thought possible. You can wait longer to water because when they're dry, the whole crop can be watered in minutes instead of hours. Grow crops with less fertilizer, reducing the need for growth retardant.

Other Benefits Much more consistent crop growth due to even watering and reduced plant stress. Up to 10% faster crop times, depending on the crop. Savings of 30% to 95% on water and fertilizer, depending on previous watering method(s).

Humidity is much easier to control, especially in poly houses. Most growers report greatly reduced use of fungicides. Generally there are no weeds growing under the benches, and greatly reduced incidence of fungus gnats, etc. as the area below the benches is usually very dry. Ebb-Flo® benches can automatically water successive crops at any spacing and in any pot size, without changing anything. Multi-Tier

Maine Attractions are cedar frames with green vinyl coated wire mesh. They are very attractive and used for merchandising a wide variety of garden products. The cedar is an excellent product for the wet applications of plant sales and the coated mesh is galvanized before coating. The mesh stays clean and there is never any algae growth. These are available in many sizes of single and two tier units as well as end caps and octagon tables. Custom staining is also available.

Multi-Tier displays are of the same style and construction as Benchmates but are made with three shelves that are easily angled to create a “wall of color” to attract attention. The shelves are 6’ long x about 40”, 30”, and 20” deep and hold 31 - 1020 trays. Shelves may be level or at any desired angle. Each unit has a full length basket rod (a double rod is optional). Cedar face trim that matches the Benchmate line is optional.
