Delta Fin™ SF Delta Fin™ is a great choice for uniform convection heating. It's constructed of aluminum to dissipate heat quickly, resulting in Available in 2" and 1" with stock length of 12' substantial energy savings. The external surface of 100 lineal feet of Delta Fin™ is approximately the same as 844 lineal feet of 2” bare pipe. This means it would take 844 feet of 2” pipe to produce the same amount of heat as it would take 100 lineal feet of 2” Delta Fin™. Its high BTU output means you need fewer units. All fittings connect with a special all-aluminum coupler which requires no threading. The unique fittings make it easy to install and its simple design makes the Delta Fin™ easy to maintain. Power-Vented High Efficiency II The PDP (propeller) and BDP (blower) High Efficiency II gas unit heaters are a generation of products that are inexpensive to install, easy to use, and offer excellent in-service economy. Each Modine power-exhausted unit heater has been engineered to include the following features:

A thermal efficiency of 80%, maximizing seasonal efficiency through the use of a collector box and the power exhaust. A power exhaust that can be rotated 180 degrees. The unit can be vented vertically or horizontally. A 100% shut-off, intermittent pilot-ignition system with continuous retry at no extra charge. This ignition system allows for all PDP/BDP units to be field-converted to propane, if desired. A safety pressure switch to assure safe venting conditions. Designed to utilize the smallest diameter vent pipe possible. “Wing” screws designed so the bottom pan can be dropped without a screwdriver or nut driver. PDP models are designed to operate against 0.5 inches of external static pressure. A level hanging mechanism for easy field adjustments after adding accessories that may change the unit’s center of gravity.

Exhaust Fans (Type NBF) American Coolair exhaust fans provide fresh air ventilation in your greenhouse. These fans and their accessories give years of trouble-free service. The principal underlying fresh air ventilation is to exhaust hot and humid air from the greenhouse by means of the exhaust fan and to replace it with cooler outside air entering the opposite end of the greenhouse through an inlet shutter(s). The exhaust fan assembly consists of the fan, wall housing, shutter (mounted on the housing), and guard. By adding motorized inlet shutter(s) and a thermostat, the system can be completely automatic.

Type GWH (Square Box) Wall Housing Coolair’s GWH square wall housing is an exterior unit to house the Type NBF fan and the Type LRW shutter. It is constructed of heavy gauge galvanized steel and can be attached to exterior walls to free the interior space from obstructions. 20 25

Type GSWH (Slope) Wall Housing H

The slope wall housing allows the shutter to be placed on the intake side of the fan and eliminates air turbulence that occurs with the shutter on the down side of the fan. It also prevents the warm air from being lost through the metal wall housing to the cold air in cold climate operations.

Evaporative Cooling Pad System

The Evaporative Cooling Pad

To counter periods of extreme temperature that affect in-house environments and therefore production, Coolair Evaporative Cooling Systems are used with outstanding success. When large quantities of air are pulled through Glacier-Cor pads that are saturated with water, a substantial cooling effect is realized due to the evaporation of the water. Used in conjunction with Coolair fan applications, a temperature reduction of 10 to 25 degrees is commonplace. Suited for all geographic locations, the Coolair Evaporative Cooling System delivers the greatest economic benefits to areas where higher temperatures during longer periods of time are the norm.

Evap-Pads are 4” or 6” thick, 12” wide with height increments every 12” from 24” to 96”. The Evap Pads are positioned adjacent to each other to form a continuous pad of the required height and length. 4” Evap-Pads up to 48” tall and 6” Evap-Pads up to 72” tall are selfsupporting, and therefore don't require wire baskets or other supporting materials. The pads are held in place by component parts of the system. Tall pad supports are required on 4” pad systems over 48” tall and 6” pad systems over 72” tall. In addition to the standard EvapPad, edge-coated pads, which help reduce algae growth or build-up, are also offered.

What is Evaporative Cooling Pad? Evaporative Cooling Pads (Evap-Pads) are a product developed for horticultural and agricultural cooling applications. Evap-Pads have a cross fluted configuration that gives maximum cooling when the warm air passes through the wet Glacier-Cor pads. It’s available in 4" and 6" thickness.

How Micro Grow Systems Work Micro Grow systems are based on a very simple concept. They monitor the greenhouse environment by means of proven and reliable sensors. The grower sets various parameters for all of the greenhouse equipment. When the control system senses that the desired range of temperature and humidity (if used) is out of the

The EnviroSTEP has 12 outputs. Each relay stage can operate a system of climate control equipment. Vent Automation Four steps to selecting the right vent automation for you: 1. What size drive unit do you need to lift the vent? Wadsworth offers two drive units: VC 100A and our new 3 RPM VC 2000 All units include: ■ Internal limit switches that stop the motor in normal operation (the silver box on the side of the drive unit) ■ Over-torque and reverse-torque protect the motor in case of mechanical binding (the small silver box on the bottom of the drive unit). 2. What shaft size? Wadsworth’s drive units come with a dual output shaft. All units can be ordered to fit either 1-3/8" or 1- 5/8" shaft. Measure the outside diameter of your shaft to determine which size is right for your greenhouse. 3. Which Vent Control? Do you want your vents to open in one movement or incrementally? In choosing a vent control, you need to consider the overall greenhouse system. Your choice of vent control depends on how you want your vents to open, in increments (25%, 50%, 100%), proportionally (you define how many movements), or fully open. This in turn depends on what type of environmental control you use.

4. What type of rack? Rack and pinion connects the vent to the shaft. As the drive unit turns the shaft, the rack pushes the vent open or pulls it closed. What type of rack should I use? • Curved Rack can give you extra clearance when space is tight and the rack might interfere with a curtain or aisle • Straight Rack is used in most applications • What rack material do I need? • Aluminum Rack is used in most applications • Steel Rack is generally used for open roof greenhouses that need extra strength How is the rack spaced? Rack is usually placed every 6' to 7'. There should be 6” of rack when the vent is fully open. All models have 6" of rack movement per revolution of drive shaft.

Reflectors: The Most Important Part Of A Greenhouse Fixture An effective lighting system depends strongly on the way light is distributed across the crops. An even blanket of light ensures uniform plant growth, promotes production of fruits, leaves, or flowers, and enhances overall plant quality. It is not unusual for crop yield to increase at least 10% due to a change in light distribution. The secret to obtaining a uniform blanket of light is to equip light fixtures with reflectors, which receive and reflect light in the desired direction. Its shape, reflecting angle and the emission of total light quantity between that angle determine the efficiency of each reflector. What's so good about P.L. Dramm Drip Assembly: Dribble Tubes & Weights The Dramm Tube has been a favorite for many years because of its shape and ease of use. Dramm has retained the best of the Dribble Tube weight while adding features to work more easily with the Dramm Low Flow System. The Dramm Low Flow weights (LF-W) are made from the same zinc aluminum alloy as the Dribble Tube weights (DT-W), but unlike the DTWs, the LF-Ws have a barb fitting for easy assembly. The Dramm LF-W weights are very compact and have a slim design that allows for easy harvesting. Additionally, instead of clamping to the outside of the leader tube, the water passes through the LF-W weights and out two side exit ports. This prevents the tube from plugging up with the media in the pot and provides for more even watering.

Pressure Regulators Pressure regulators automatically regulate water pressure in pipes or tubing downstream of its location. Pressure regulators have become effective tools extensively used in solid-set, mechanical-move, and lowvolume irrigation systems to take a finite amount of water and apply it uniformly over a specific area. Plants lose their moisture through evaporation from the leaves. They also gather carbon needed for growth in the form of carbon dioxide through the leaves. By controlling the plants' pores through the use of a properly designed fog system, the results are stronger and healthier plants with optimum growth potential. The overall effectiveness of the system will depend on existing temperature and humidity levels. Fog systems can also be used to introduce fertilizers by injecting nutrients directly into the atmosphere. The moisture and the nutrients are absorbed by the leaves of the plant.
