Tips and tricks: We’ll help with moving daze
Are you looking for a house to buy or rent right now? Or have you cleared this hurdle and are now feeling anxious about the big move into your new home? Unpack the stress of moving house with five valuable tips from Kleenheat.
Start recruiting early
Start collecting your packing boxes as soon as you know you’re moving. Ask your family and friends who have recently moved house. Or you could post on your local Buy Nothing Group to save yourself some extra ka-Ching. If you need a few extra boxes, you can purchase them from your nearest Bunnings Warehouse or Officeworks.
Book the essentials before it’s too late
Book your removalists, or hire a moving van for the big day. Due to high demand, these bad boys are driving out the door. The earlier you book, the less stressful your move will be. Oh, and don’t forget to order a truck with a loading ramp, your back will thank you for it!
Need for speed
Invest in a ‘Movers Dolly.’ These beauties are small but very effective. If you own heavy furniture or awkward-shaped belongings, you’ll be moving in no time with these wheels; they get the job done swiftly and safely.
Give your old belongings the new life they deserve
Donate your unwanted belongings to help those in need and free up your space before the move. The Australian Red Cross, The Good Sammy’s, and The Salvation Army all have local bins or stores around the city for drop-offs. Let life flow
Tell your utilities providers of your move. A quick call to your gas, water and electricity providers will help ensure your new home is ready to use from the day you move in. Are you a Kleenheat customer about to move house? Kleenheat will carefully bubble wrap your natural gas savings to enjoy in your new home in just a few easy clicks.
Kleenheat take the stress out of moving house with quick and easy options for existing customers and those looking to switch. This means less hassle, more savings on your natural gas. When you’re ready to move, visit Kleenheat.com.au/bgchousinggroup and let life flow into your new home.

Colour and fresh air
Australians place colour & fresh air at the top of their wish lists.
Wattyl, Australia’s leading paint company, says its most recent research shows consumers are opting for more colour in their homes while placing greater emphasis than ever before on clean, fresh air, devoid of toxins.
There has been a 20 per cent increase in consumer requests for colour, says Wattyl, with a clear preference for richer, warmer, earthier hues. Paint is unquestionably the magic ingredient for a fast, inexpensive means of giving our homes a fresh, colourful makeover, as well as for cleverly delineating different areas within a larger space.
Greens are playing an important role in Australian interiors – in part because of our yearning for being more connected with nature as well as our growing passion for interior plants and foliage. Greens are particularly useful in reading and relaxing areas due to their ability to imbue a space with a sense of contemplation and calm.
For dining and working areas, where a sense of confidence and optimism is preferred, warm, mid-tone russets, sun-kissed ochres and raw brick hues are the perfect fit and work well with lighter neutrals and warm whites.
For bedrooms, that often double as home workspaces, the key is to create a calming, thoughtful sanctuary. Blues and lavenders are the perfect fit and work particularly well when used tone on tone or in a layered effect.
Wattyl Imperium and Wattyl Maharajah are two favourites and work equally well together as alone. Other soft furnishings within the room can be selected with varying tonal values from this same area of the colour spectrum and the result will be an exceptionally nurturing sanctuary.
The other essential factor in creating a safe and nurturing living space is to ensure the level of toxins – in particular VOCs (volatile organic compounds) – is at an absolute minimum. Wattyl has taken the lead in safe paint finishes with its I.D Advanced ultra-low VOC formula with less than 1g of VOCs per litre – a level that far exceeds greenbuilding requirements.
