OUR CAMPS?

WHY CHOOSE OUR CAMPS?

At BGC Kawarthas we take pride in providing an exciting summer experience! Our programs are designed to promote our core values of Belonging, Respect, Encouragement & Support, Working Together and Speaking Out.

Our Staff

Camp Staff are certified in CPR/First Aid and trained in Trauma Informed Approach for children in addition to intensive training and screening to ensure the highest quality program. We are an accredited organization with HIGH FIVE (a quality assurance program implemented by Parks and Recreation Ontario). Our staff team is trained in HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Childhood Development. The training provides the team with the skills and tools to facilitate high quality programs for children! To learn more about HIGH FIVE visit www.HIGH FIVE.org

Our Training Program Includes:

Program planning and development, program implementation, supervision, sun safety, behavioral management systems, emergency response, health and safety, communication, quality assurance and more.

Inclusion and Integration:

BGC is committed to the inclusion of all campers. Please make us aware of any special requirements for medication, mobility, or behaviour, or of other resources your child may need to participate at the time of registration. The more informed we are, the better service we can provide.

Camp Activity Locations and Transportation

The day will always start and finish at our Camp locations, while some of the daily activities will take place at local parks and splash pads. Our programs take advantage of many outdoor spaces including local parks, splash pads, outdoor spaces within walking distance. For activities that take place farther away, campers will be using BGC Kawarthas vehicles, and chartered school buses.
