BGCKL is a great to partner...they are open to new ideas, bring strong resources to the table and are very collaborative in their approach. The Club also brings a unique approach and is a wonderful environment for children and youth.

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Kawartha Lakes and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Kawartha Lakes Foundation Strategic Plan for 2014-17 was developed through a consultative process and engaged a cross-section of BGCKL stakeholders. The process was led by the two Boards and the Management Team but involved many of our program participants, staff, volunteers and community partners. These individuals and groups had input through a number of vehicles. The process involved on-line surveys, focus groups, face to face and telephone interviews that culminated in a planning day involving fifty-five (55) participants. The resulting Strategic Plan sets the path for the BGCKL over the next three years and provides the framework for the development of both operational and capital improvement plans. We undertook this process because we are committed to the delivery of exceptional programs that provide positive impacts for local children and youth and, by extension, their families. It is our belief that continual improvement requires feedback from our stakeholders, regular environmental scanning and careful planning so that our team is prepared to move forward confidently. The following strategic goals and objectives build on the progress and results attained under the past Strategic Plan and support positive outcomes in the lives of children, youth and families. Our Boards of Directors (BGCKL and Foundation) and staff team look forward to working collaboratively with current and new partners, stakeholders, funders and government to change the lives of local young people and their families.

Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada are leading providers of after school and critical hours programs, recognized for significantly contributing to the healthy development of young people especially those who need us most. With families and others in the community, we help children to grow up to be healthy, confident, responsible and successful in life.
