Community grants and support program making a difference V

illawood Properties is continuing its support of the local community through its community grants program and this year a number of local organisations stand to benefit. a number of grants have already been announced through westbury, one of four Villawood Properties projects to be launched in the Greater Bendigo region this year.

The following organisations will receive grants as part of the westbury initiative: women’s Thunder Football Club; Maiden Gully Fire Brigade; Marong Early learning Centre; dragons Gridiron team; Central Blazers Hockey Club, and Bendigo Mountain Bike Club. The recipients include the all-conquering women’s Thunder Football

Club which competes in the Premier division of the VwFl against teams from Melbourne. The grant from Villawood has enabled the club to reduce the costs of two of our VwFl academy players so that they can continue to play the game they love. another recipient is the Maiden Gully Fire Brigade who will put its grant toward improvements to their

current facilities. Villawood Properties executive director Rory Costelloe said the grants program was a key component of Villawood Properties’ support of local communities and organisations. “local groups play such an important role in providing critical community support, and encouraging activity and social interaction,” he said.

The fact that they occupy such key community-strengthening roles is something which resonates strongly at Villawood Properties. “This is why supporting local community groups, wherever we operate, is so important to us. “it’s thanks to the selfless work of the volunteers at
