www.measuring-meters.com Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) is the laboratory measurement of amount of oxygen used in chemical reactions that occur in water as a result of the addition of wastes to it. It measures the sum total of organic and inorganic pollution in waste water. COD is a measure of the relative oxygen-depletion effect of a waste contaminant in water. It is an essentially a laboratory test which acts as wastewater quality indicator and will have a significant adverse effect aquatic life in water.

WORKING PRINCIPLE Our Fast Response COD analysis system works on the principle of oxidation of oxidisable material with a given amount of potassium chromate, the titration of excess chromate and the calculation of oxygen consumed.
