CONCEPT

// LOCATION - DWARKA, DELHI // SOFTWARE - REVIT, TWINMOTION, AUTOCAD // THESIS - 2021 A juvenile correction centre is a prison for children under the age of 18. The creation of Juvenile Detention Centres was aimed for rehabilitation and protection of young offenders from adult offender’s influence. However noble these intentions are, it has become worrying that these centres in India are dehumanizing and are not conducive for rehabilitation thus leading to increase in recidivism rate. Today Juvenile homes in India are being built as buildings which are merely dens for offenders rejected by our society. A Juvenile home requires more meaningful and effective structuring of the physical environment through architecture. Most of the crimes in our society are committed by individuals who are orphans or unaccompanied and are without the means of subsistence. Juvenile homes should be a response to solving these root causes of juvenile delinquency. A juvenile home should not be merely a shelter for punishing the juvenile delinquents who are rejected by our society, instead it should be a place that acts as a correctional facility for them which can upgrade their physical and metal well being thus reducing the criminal activities done by them.

MOVEMENT PORTRAYS THE JOURNEY OF A CHILD IN THE JUVENILE CORRECTION CENTRE

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

// CONCEPT Movement of a child here, depicts the transformation during his journey in the juvenile centre. According to my interpretation a child’s mind is fragile and full of uncertainty and conflicts which might result to committing a crime by them knowingly or unknowingly. The 2 points shown here depicts the moment when they entered the juvenile centre and when they leave it to start a new life outside. The path designed by me portrays the journey of a child’s mind.

// LOCATION - PUNE // SOFTWARE - REVIT, TWINMOTION, AUTOCAD // 3RD YEAR A coorporate office is the main office of a corporation. I have designed the building for Development Bank of Singapore. The concept for the building was derived from the logo of DBS bank. The logo is transformed as then it was rotated at 45 deg. angle at odd number floors. Since the World Trade Centre , Pune is in front of this buildingfacade is aesthetically pleasing. // CONCEPT DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

// LOCATION - PUNE AIRPORT // SOFTWARE - REVIT, AUTOCAD // 4TH YEAR Pune is the second largest city in Maharashtra and is considered to be the cultural capital. The airport is a civil enclave operated by the Airport Authority of India at the eastern side of Lohegaon Air Force Station of the Indian Air Force. A passenger facility centre is a separate provided on the landside of the terminal building of the Pune airport. The centre is designed, keeping in mind all the requirements of the passengers of all types, inclusive of delay or cancellation of their flights. It should also cater for and accessible to the surrounding population to make it economical and feasible in long term. Airport industry in India has also achieved new heights within the changing times. It is trying to make the passenger more comfortable and Pune airport is in need of a good facility centre as it acts as the centre of many connecting flights. // CONCEPT The concept for passenger facility centre for pune airport is function based. - Two open landscape plaza are provided on the front side of the passenger facility centre which connects both airport building and facility centre. this creates a sense of connectivity between the two sides. - Spaced trussed frame system is provided for the recreational area in the facility centre.this helps in providing a column free space for the recreational area which provides a better view. - Service passages are provide for the staff members to access retail shops easily and to carry raw materials to the food utlets and shops
