H.D.H. Hariprasad Swamiji has always laid emphasis on true education that can render a person into a living abode of god. Such education can be imparted only when education and spirituality go hand in hand. This always motivates us and our students to excel in educational, cultural and spiritual endeavour. Empowerment of womanhood remains at the core of our philosophy. Savanaman Vidya Mandir added one more feather to its grace as its first Batch of Class X came up with 100% result where almost all students scored more than first-class. Remarkably, this year forth, the school commenced the higher secondary classes as XI Science and XI Commerce. Indeed the divine blessings of Pujya Swamiji have enabled the school to grow continuously and gloriously. Students rejoiced when the school reopened on 7th June, 2010 and first session is in its full pace and swing. We find pleasure in forwarding you the First Quarterly Report of the academic year 201011 thus enabling you to have glimpses of the activities that are undertaken during this tenure. Swamiji’s Concerns P.P. Swamiji’s concerns for Sarvanaman Vidya Mandir and its educational progress was apparently revealed when he invited the staff of all the schools managed by Yogi Divine Society to Haridham on 31st May,’10. While addressing, he inspired all the members towards sincere and earnest discharge of the duties as well as working co-operatively with commitment for better development of the students that are at the care of these schools. Orientation Programme A reorientation programme for teachers was organized from 24th May to 31st May, 2010. The main objective of the programme was to discuss the common teaching methods,
criteria and suitable strategies to impart the curriculum in the best possible manner. An effective follow up of the academic planner is well underway. Dr. Sinha interacts with the SVM Teachers and Students Dr. Sinha, Principal, DPS, Baroda, paid two visits to Sarvanaman Vidya Mandir on 19th June, and on 14th August, 2010. Dr. Sinha interacted with the teachers and students in separate phases. The interacting sessions triggered instillation of the directive force among the teachers enabling them to develop professionally by making committed efforts to reach extreme level of personalization. While interacting with the students of Class XI, the students were advised to grow inquisitive, take maximum help of the teachers, and work objectively. An Interaction with Child Psychologist The teachers of Sarvanaman Vidya Mandir had an interesting and valuable interaction with Mrs. Bela Patel, a renowned child psychologist who, with her skillful presentation, unfolded the marvels of positive motivation and lifted the common viewpoints to new horizons. Felicitation Programme For AISSE-2010 (X) Rank Holders Yogi Divine Society organized a Felicitation Programme For AISSE-2010 (X) Rank Holders at Atmiya Vidya Mandir, Surat on Sunday, 13th June 2010 in which the toppers and rankers of Atmiya Vidya Mandir and Sarvanaman Vidya Mandir were felicitated with the awards. Pooja H. Patel, Rinkle N. Mistry, Dimple R. Patel, Divya S.Bariya, Pooja R.Patel were the proud rankers from Sarvanaman Vidya Mandir to receive the awards. Co-Curricular Activities Aiming at wholesome development of the students, the school carried out vivid conducive activities, some of which are mentioned here under. conducted for Class II to X with the objective of developing mathematical and linguistic skills of the students. English & Gujarati Dictation Competition It had been Judges’ judgment put to test when all the students of Class II to X very enthusiastically participated in ‘English Dictation Competition’ and ‘Gujarati Dictation Competition’ conducted on Saturday, 26th June, 2010. Gujarati Elocution Competition Students of Sarvanaman Vidya Mandir are being trained to get proficiency in three languages i.e., English, Hindi as well as Gujarati. With the objective of developing oratory skills in Gujarati, an elocution competition was organized in the school on Saturday, 3rd July, 2010. Students of Class I to Class X participated in the competition and spoke dexterously on subjects varying from national affairs to global issues. Investiture Ceremony A solemn occasion of Investiture of Prefect Council of Sarvanaman Vidya Mandir for the year 2010-2011 took place on 7th July, 2010. The function was presided by Pujya Sahaj Didi and Pujya Sarvajit Didi. The Head Girl and the captains and vice captains of the four houses were given away the sashes and badges by the guests of honour. In presence of guests, the Principal, teachers and all the students, the council was administered the oath for discharge of their duties with full sincerity and efficiency. Hindi Elocution Competition When Students of Sarvanaman Vidya Mandir present their views and concerns on variety of issues, it becomes an event worth attending. The students turned the audience stunned and charmed with their adept and effective oral presentation when Hindi Elocution Competition for the classes I to X was held on Saturday, 10th July, 2010. State Level Representation in Sports Apart from intra-school competitions, the SVM students show their valor in external competitions too. It was quite apparent as, in a Kho-kho and Kabbadi Championship for under-15 held at Taluka Level, Savanaman Vidya Mandir bagged the second position in both the Championships. More significantly, three students of the school- Ayushi Yadav, Diksha H. Bhagat and Bhakti B. Yadav were selected to participate in Kabbadi Championship at state level while other three students - Urja Patel, Mihika Rathod and Shivani Patel were selected for the participation in Kho-kho at district level. The
Sarvanaman Vidya Mandir fraternity feels proud and, congratulates the students for their brilliant achievement. 1st Mid-term Examinations The 1st Mid-term Examinations were conducted during 15th July,’10 to 30th July, ’10 for the classes I to XI. Guru Poornima Celebration Guru Poornima was celebrated on Monday, 26th July 2010 in the divine presence of P. Suruchi Didi, P.Shyamcharan Didi, and P. Mama to pay reverence to all those who have shaped our cultural build-up and have thus guided our destinies. Students presented wonderful dance and skit emphasizing the importance of obedience to Guru’s words. Students expressed a deep sense of gratitude and respect for their teachers by performing Guru Poojan. The greatest experience came in the form of video-clip of P.P. Hariprasad Swamiji’s message extremely helpful to overcome our shortcomings. English Essay Writing Competition & Chart Making Competition The day of 7th August, 2010, witnessed all the students pouring out their ideas, view points and creativity through English Essay Writing Competition and Chart Making Competition. Picnic to Akshardham and Water Park Students of Class I to IV celebrated their ‘day out’ on 12th August, 2010 enjoying the thrilling rides at Swapna Srusti Water Park and visiting marvelous Akshardham Temple at Gandhinagar. Independence Day Celebration Nation’s 63rd Anniversary of Independence was celebrated in full fervor and spirit of patriotism on 15th August, 2010. Cultural programme followed the Flag hoisting ceremony. Patriotic song, skit, dance, demonstration of Martial Arts, all performed by the students, left the audience stunned.
