Meet the summer discovery instructors!
ADRIANNE SHARROCK
Adrianne has been teaching at PJA for 16 years! Chances are, she has taught one or more of your children! When not busy at school, Adrianne enjoys petting friendly animals, working on way too many art projects, and playing games of all kinds, of course!
ALEX HAMOVITZ
Alex has a degree in marine biology and is deeply passionate about wildlife and conservation. She worked at PJA for two years and now works in Special Education. In her free time she enjoys doing all sorts of art, exploring nature and snuggling her dog.
BESS NATION
Bess teaches to foster a love of reading, exploration and curiosity in her students. She earned her graduate degree in Education from PSU in 2014, and has been with PJA for five years. She loves being outdoors, exploring new art forms, and being a mom to her toddler.
CELINDA LLANEZ
Celinda is a kindergarten teacher at PJA and the Summer Discovery Director. She is so excited for students to return for another summer of exploring, learning, and fun!
CODY HALL
Cody is an instructional assistant for kindergarten at PJA. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Theater Arts and loves all things Disney and Marvel. She can’t wait to learn and explore with the kiddos this summer!
ELLEN KIPNIS
Ellen has taught for 26 years, 15 of those at PJA. She believes in learning through hands-on activities and curiosity as a guide to gaining knowledge. She loves children and her goal is to make a positive difference in all children’s lives.
JAKE MCCOY
Jake has worked in Jewish education in various capacities for more than ten years. This is his fifth year at PJA where he currently works as a Support Services Specialist. This will be his third year working with the Summer Discovery program at PJA.
JOAN SAURINI
Joan works in the PJA preschool with three year-olds and taught four year-olds at PJA for more than 20 years. She will be assisting instructors, helping with carpool, and more!
KATIE KORNBERG
Katie has taught for over a decade, returning home to Pre-K this year. She has studied many different modalities of fine art, and finds inspiration by guiding others through the unlocking of their creative potential.
KASEY BREUIER
Kasey has taught for ten years in both public and private schools, four of those at PJA. She believes that learning should be fun and student-driven. Kasey takes her inspiration from her second grade teacher, who was her favorite teacher and is now her mentor.
LUCY SCHWIMMER
Lucy is in her fifth year of teaching at PJA. She loves to read, crochet, and spend time outside with her dog Fozzie. She is looking forward to exploring, learning, and crafting with you this summer!
PLAY-WELL TEKNOLOGIES
Play-Well Teknologies provides project-based programs for children, ages 5-14, using LEGO®. As they build elaborate objects, structures and vehicles, kids have fun while exploring fundamental principles of engineering and physics.
REMY STECKEL
Remy has been teaching at PJA for the past three years. They loved being able to work with all of the students this year as the library aide and in-house substitute teacher. They enjoy making art, singing loudly in the car and snuggling with their cat Ramona.
SUSANNA PERRIN
Susanna has been teaching at PJA for 20 years. She loves the integration of stories and art with learning. She enjoys reading, creating her own art and stories, and spending time with her family and pets.
