WELCOME
Duedipicche is the two of spades, the most invaluable card in many games. Is the card that is worth less, so players from each nation and from every age instinctively associate the abstract and general concept of the duedipicche with failure. That’s why to get a two of spades is synonymous of a VERY negative response. Not many people might know that in the early card games the kings were the card of higher value, with no exceptions. As early as the end of 1400 began to give a special meaning to the card with nominally lower value, now called Ace, so much so that it became the most valuable (giving to twos the lower value). This concept have been hastened by the French Revolution, where the revolutionary begin to play games with an ace becomes the symbol of the rise in power of the lower classes against the nobility.
More than two hundred years later the duedipicche culture is finally born, to claim the right of everyone to be the King of his world.

La bici decontestualizzata si fa pezzo di arredamento. Tra funzione e arte attraverso estetica e recupero, conferisce un tocco di orginalità alle nostre case.
Dissacrante, umoristico, irrispettoso e stravagante, Duchamp ha posto le basi per lo sviluppo di un certo tipo di tendenza che ammette, o per meglio dire incoraggia azioni come quella del riciclo, della metamorfosi, del restyling al fine di trasformare la maniera di intendere lo spazio abitativo.
In principio fu un’intuizione: trasformare un oggetto d’uso quotidiano in un’ opera d’arte. Il READY-MADE vede la luce con il lavoro di Marcel Duchamp nei primi decenni del Novecento come rifiuto degli standard artistici a lui contemporanei e influenza, trasformandolo profondamente, il modo di fare design.
È grazie a Duchamp e a tutta una schiera di creativi che oggi non è poi così strana l’idea di ritrovare nelle nostre abitazioni oggetti urbani estrapolati dalla loro funzione principale e ricondotti a una nuova vita. “porzioni di bicicletta strappate all’oblio e rimesse assieme fino a creare poltrone, sedute da ufficio, tavolini da cocktail o da pranzo.” Meno estrema, ma altrettanto interessante è Hes, poltroncina dell’artista Carlo de Meo, realizzata con un grappolo di sellini recuperati e proposta da Artwo all’ultimo Fuorisalone di Milano. Un omaggio all’idea di “viaggiare stando fermi” che strizza l’occhio ai classici italiani: Tour Table è stato disegnato nel 1993 ma è già considerato dagli appassionati un oggetto senza tempo, grazie alla particolare concezione che vede montare quattro forcelle con ruote a supporto di un elegante piano in vetro. Con lo sgabello per telefono Sella Achille e Piergiacomo Castiglioni firmano nel 1957 un altro pezzo senza tempo che Zanotta continua ad amare e produrre anche dopo l’avvento dei cordless. Negli anni cinquanta infatti i telefoni erano collocati su una parete e le persone erano costrette a stare in piedi accanto all’apparecchio. Non solo piani e sedute, i campi di applicazione esplorati negli anni sono molteplici e gli esempi di prodotti porHes chair Carlo de Meo for Artwo
are un particolare tipo di legame. I nostri cicli sono in possesso di un’anima, di una decisa connotazione personale che viene conferita loro dalle persone che le acquistano, le curano, le adoperano, le vivono. È proprio questa straordinaria simbiosi emozionale che ispira e conferisce fascino a tutta una serie di pezzi nati forse originariamente dalla non-volontà di scindersi dal proprio ciclo una volta che questo dev’essere sostituito. Tutto il lavoro dell’americano Andy Gregg e della sua Bike Furniture si basa proprio su questo principio. Nato come meccanico, Gregg si pone a metà strada tra arte applicata e design grazie a prodotti interamente composti da porzioni di bicicletta strappate all’oblio e rimesse assieme fino a creare poltrone, sedute da ufficio, tavolini da cocktail o da pranzo.

tatori della carica ironica originata dal primo ready-made aumentano ogni giorno. è il caso di Inferno (Stefano Canto per Artwo), vaso composto da uno stretto nido a cerchi concentrici di catena di bicicletta che si sviluppa e poggia su un rocchetto del cambio. Un vaso come pochi, che con il movimento del ciclismo urbano ha in comune, oltre alla struttura che origina le sue forme, anche una certa ricerca di sostenibilità e una sensibilità alle tematiche sociali. Scarti industriali e materie povere diventano ancora una volta oggetto di design prodotto in serie limitata presso un laboratorio situato nel carcere di Rebibbia originando un processo di recupero ad ampio respiro che non si conclude nei materiali ma, al contrario, diventa occasione di coinvolgimento e condivisione di talenti.

nella stessa misura in cui lo riveste un quadro o un qualsiasi altro elemento decorativo. Sono sempre maggiori le possibilità offerte dalle aziende per mettere al riparo la propria due ruote dai furti, o per sfruttare al meglio gli spazi ridotti dei miniappartamenti cittadini, una di queste è Bookbike. Progettata da Ugo Fava per Byografia e presentata a Milano design week 2011, questa libreria prevede uno spazio per ospitare una bicicletta accanto a libri, dischi e classici soprammobili.
Attraverso una guida per le ruote è possibile evitare che queste segnino o sporchino, è inoltre presente un sistema di ancoraggio regolabile in altezza. Anche The Bike Shelf (Chris Brigham / Knife & Saw LLC) concorre a portare avanti questo processo di nobilitazione del mezzo, avvicinandolo ai libri con un sistema minimalista al massimo e anche per questo di sicuro impatto. Il ripiano in legno, disponibile in tre finiture, dispone di una sede che consente l’alloggiamento sospeso del telaio della bici.
Arriva dalla Catalogna un altro concetto interessante che sfrutta la proprietà elastica delle camere d’aria presenti nei copertoni. System Design Studio, collettivo di Barcellona, propone un kit-libreria consistente in due gambe per mobili riciclate e fissate al muro su cui mettere in tensione le fasce elastiche che fungeranno da scaffalatura su cui riporre la propria collezione di riviste o di cd. Ma destrutturare fisicamente la bici non è sicuramente l’unico modo per farla entrare nelle nostre case. L’ultima tendenza si chiama decontestualizzazione. La citybike viene rimossa da polverosi garage e assume un ruolo di rilievo all’interno dello spazio abitativo

If your heart is broken and you don’t know what to do about it, the best relief is all along to grab a big cup of ice cream, switch on the TV and have a touched cry in front of your favourite romantic movie. Do you feel like this sad time is coming today? Don’t worry at all. Accept your cry baby side and choose one of the movie advised. Duedipicche selected for you a tentitles anthology that proposes the bicycle as absolute star. Only a bunch of these films are exclusively focused on bikes, but what really associate each of them is a single hot scene in which a cycle is on the spot. As Italians we decided to enclose some essential made in Italy cuts that remain in our collective imagination. In the hilarious “Fantozzi contro tutti” accountant Ugo Fantozzi was forced by his collegue surveyor Filini to take part in the Cobra Cup, a back-breaking classic cycling race. The Masterpiece “Ladri di Biciclette” (Bicycle Thieves) and the iconic erotic scene of the provocative ride from “Monella” cannot be missed.

The available choice is really wide: from Kevin Costner’s impressive runaway in “American Flyers” to the Spielberg’s classic “E.T.” scene in which kids try to escape from the police hiding their friend with a blanket. 80’s rule out this competition. Indeed, our favourite scenes come out from this decade. In 1983, a young Kylie Minogue had her cinematografic debut in “BMX Bandits”, a full-colored Australian movie. In 1986 Kevin Bacon played the role of a bankrupt stock broker becomed Bike Messenger in 2DP very favourite “Quicksilver”.

“The Denver bike messenger scene is a collection of interesting characters. I started taking notice when we would have messengers in and out of my downtown studio, picking up and delivering packages. We started getting a cast of regulars who we would also see ripping through the streets downtown no matter what the Colorado weather brought, they had my attention and I started thinking about a portrait project. To get the attention of the messengers we put together a small poster that said “Bike Messengers Should Be Shot!” and posted them at various downtown hangouts. We also said “free pizza and beer”, this helped a lot. We held an open-house at the studio on a Saturday. We ended up with about 20 messengers coming by on the first day and realized that they were happy stay all day, or at least until the beer was gone. A few cases of PBR “tall boys” later we had some great portraits. We did the same thing few weeks later. One of the great things about portrait work is forming a quick connection with the subject by talking for a few minutes before we started photographing. Most of messengers had some really interesting stories about working in the city. They loved the images, and a few even asked for prints that they could send home for Christmas presents.”

s Italians, we really enjoy curves. We appreciate them so much that we decided to put them on a bike, just to see what happens. The result of our researches is a new trend-setting design for cargo, both easy and sexy,
just like a dancing woman. The iconic curved frame is inspired by the industrial design masterpieces of the fifties. Double painted, Mambo steps out from the role of a simple cargo bike breaking the scene as only the superstars do. The back luggage

Using only a ruler and utility knife, anyone can follow tagmi’s simple instructions to apply the graphic adhesive. To apply a different Fix Your Bike kit or to return the bike to its original appearance, the removal process is easy, requires only a hair dryer and leaves no damage or residue. Each season the existing collection, will be replaced and supplemented by a variety of new graphic designs.
HOW YOU CAN DO IT.
1 Remove 7 strips from the package. 2 Clean the bicycle frame with any good degreaser. 3 Using the diagram above as a reference, find part “a” of the frame and measure it’s length and circumference. 4 Cut the corresponding strip “a” according to the bike frame measurements. 5 Remove the adhesive’s backing, line up the sticker and attach the ends first by rubbing with pressure. 6 By using the same action, attach the length of the frame followed by the circumference. 7 Repeat this operation for parts b, c, d1, d2, e1, e2. For curved or unusual bike frames use a hair dryer. to heat the film to make it more malleable for ease in this application. DUEDIPICCHE

IT'S ALWAYS 5 O'CLOCK (SOMEWHERE) Hey everybody! Friday night! Time to disconnect and meet somebody new. For those of you who like to be on the spotlight trying something different, here are some tips by the Duedipicche staff. Number one: Go colorful. Wearing or grabbing an inusual item with confidence will increase your chanches to be noticed. Whether a 2DP bike, a strange hat or an unconvincing chinos can do a terrific job if you show that you can take it. When somebody try to bother you asking about your style, just be cool and go ironic. People will appreciate.

Ingredients
Ingredients
• 50 ml (1½ oz) Cointreau • 20 ml (¾ oz) lemon juice • 30 ml (1 oz) cranberry juice
• 3 Parts Absolut Citron • 2 Parts Melon Liqueur • 1 Part Banana Liqueur • Lime Cordial • Lemon-Lime Soda • 1 Slice Melon • 4 Quarters Lime
PREPARATION Pour into a cocktail shaker with ice cubes, shake well, then pour into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a twist of orange peel.
PREPARATION Fill a chilled highball glass with ice cubes. Add banana liqueur, Absolut Citron and melon liqueur. Topup with lime cordial and lemon-lime soda. Garnish with lime and melon.
Number two: TALK WITH PEOPLE. Don’t hide your point of view if it is required. Ask the people something about them and tell them about you (perhaps you can describe that nice 2DP you’ve bought). Just give them at least a good reason to remeber your conversation. Don’t be scared to establish some eye contact, and try not to forget names and faces (we know that one is complicated, but, well...It really matters). NUMBER THREE: DRINK RESPONSIBLY.
