Leigh-Ann Edrich
Illustration, Photography, Painting, Drawing, Digital Arts
Internationally known Fine Artist with a winning streak of publications, exhibitions and awards starting on 12 Jan 23 and continuing into 2024 with 59 new wins in 2024/128 total
A multi-talented artist that creates in every part of her life, Ilia began painting while maintaining a poetic pen pal relationship with a man named Ralph Grimes, who one day she sent a drawing to After he hung up the sketch and he told her of how many admirers praised the work, her con dence and purpose as an artist was cemented Inspired by the creativity of her mother and grandfather through gardening, she learned at a mere three years of age and beyond that ‘life is a canvas ’ upon which we create She continued her poetry, yet was urged by Grimes to try her hand at painting Her path was set Known for her ability to communicate exactly what the viewer wants in her commissioned pieces, she sold her rst wonderful work in 1987, titled ‘Cosi Fan Tuti ’ Her rst check for this validated her increasingly growing ability as an artist
Ilia weaves a very spiritual feeling into both her writings and art Schooled by independent teachers, predominately Mr Grimes who held an MFA, she was rooted further in her work by teachings in Classical, Jazz, Big Band and more
Following the lyrical pulse of life, when Ilia paints, creates digital ne art or writes, she listens to music. In uenced by Mozart, Vivaldi, Loeillet, Telemann, Purcell, Beethoven, Hayden, Bach, utist Jean-Pierre Rampal, and old time jazz, among more, these sounds help breathe life into her poetic, painterly work. Also heavily in uenced by writer, poet, photographer, musician, and lmmaker L Ron Hubbard, whose rational philosophy has guided her life, as well as inventor and artist Leonardo Di Vinci – she dubs her style as Dreamscapes as it has di erent colors and ows-reminiscent of her varying high minded in uences from art and musical composition to philosophy.
Ilia states, that she creates art in order to ‘inspire others to create ’ Indeed, her visions for her life, even beyond the canvass, are bright and noble. She adds, “I help other artists to make a living with their art because I found out that once I inspire others to create it elevates us all up higher-myself included And- at times that person isn’t going to continue unless there is a way or even several ways in which to make a living with their art, so I like to help teach them to do that ”
In addition to art, Ilia has now written a book titled “The Art of Mentoring” to share her successful actions for helping others! But for now, it is Ilia’s art that is worthy of much great attention When asked what clients collecting her work can expect, she concludes, “People can expect quality work that speaks to them. A person with my art can expect to look at it time and again nding new things to admire about it And a person can expect other people, when seeing it, to gravitate to it, look at it, admire and to continue to be drawn to the painting, looking and seeing more about it ” Unclear?
Hardly. Ilia is a rare, grounded woman with a vision, and possessing of a trained skill and con dence in that vision, which speaks diligently- from the spirit to each work she creates- and from each work in turn to each client. It is with that understanding that we invite you to enjoy the exploration of this very vibrant and deserving artist

Christopher Graves
Painting, Graphics, Drawing
As an accomplished creative who has real-world experience with some of the world’s best-known companies, as well as an active artist who has shown his work internationally, I have a proven capacity and track record to blend each discipline with the aesthetics of e ective creations that are clear, compelling and memorable. As an image-maker, I also excel at detecting patterns, recognizing opportunities and making meaning out of seemingly disparate patterns. With empathic understanding of both visual and business problems, I can combine seemingly unrelated activities into not only something new and bold, but e ective With an MFA in painting and drawing I have been trained and grounded in rigorous drawing and painting methods, but have explored and actively use digital tools to create unique and expressive visual explorations In addition, as an educator I have honed the ability to react and understand student needs despite facing complex problems Detect group and collaborative dynamics, guide discussions Guide the focused ow of strategic direction in interdisciplinary settings where solutions become integrated and clearly understood

Dylan Montanio
Painting
Born and raised in the Colorado Rockies, I grew up with a deep appreciation of nature and the arts. I used those to get through all of the trials and tribulations of youth
When I was 20 my oldest daughter was born and I decided to really take art seriously and spent the next 7 years doing gallery exhibitions in and around Denver However- I lost my inspiration with a divorce and a severe car accident.
I spent the next ten years wholly focused on my career as a chef Last year I had to put down my dog- who was legitimately my best friend That cracked my heart and all of the last decade of inspiration started to spill out Like a parting gift to shine some light through that pain Now I have so many ideas I can hardly keep up and I feel like myself again
I live in Colorado Springs with my amazing wife, two daughters, two dogs, a few sh, and a rescue gecko

Leigh Witherell
Painting
Leigh Witherell (b. 1969; Denver City, Texas, US)
Photographer and award-winning painter Leigh Witherell lives and works in Brevard County, Florida, near Orlando and Cape Canaveral.
Although Leigh’s education in the arts did not begin until college, she began to immerse herself in the fantasy world of literature as a child. Her escape into a wide variety of literary works that included the worlds of King Arthur, Beowulf, and others helped fuel the imaginings of a child and led to a love of creating The combination of those interests later led her to obtain a BA in English with a minor in Fine Arts and eventually a Master’s in Literature from the Wright State University in Fairborn, Ohio
In 2018, Leigh and her husband relocated to Florida, where they found the perfect home with a studio for her creative work
Her understanding of art-making as a powerful therapeutic tool informs her artistic practice She specializes in abstract and uid art, as these techniques allow her visions to transform themselves through interaction and reaction For Leigh, this process mirrors grief, a central experience in her life following the loss of her daughter Amanda in a tragic automobile accident in April 2021.
Shortly before Amanda’s death, she had encouraged Leigh to launch her career as an artist and had identi ed uid art as a mother-daughter project that would serve those purposes. Leigh decided to proceed with learning this new technique and began showing her uid art soon after It wasn’t long until her evolution took her away from uid art and into her passion, melancholic abstract gurative and landscape art. This technique certainly shows the depth of feelings and range of emotions that are now part of her everyday life Through these images, she can convey how her life has been a ected and is evolving daily.

Photography
I'm a passionate artist photographer and a dedicated history professor at a community college. My love for photography sparked at the young age of 12, when I started developing pictures in my makeshift bathroom darkroom. There is something truly magical about watching an image slowly appear in the developer trey. This early interest led me to be an active part of my high school yearbook sta , where I honed my skills behind the lens.
Today, I indulge in creating artistic fashion, glamour, and beauty photographs My work is a playful blend of creative lighting and imaginative Photoshop composites Photography for me is not just about capturing moments; it's an art of storytelling, a way to express beauty and emotions in still frames When I'm not peering through the view nder, you'll nd me immersed in the world of history, sharing my knowledge and passion with my students My dual love for the lens and the past de nes who I am – a storyteller at heart, whether it's through captivating images or engaging lectures

He is a signature member of the Baltimore, Delaware, Pennsylvania and Philadelphia watercolour societies He chose watercolour as a medium because it is uid and sometimes serendipitous Thirty years ago, Mark was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder In addition to painting, he is highly visible in the community, providing support and advocacy for all those who su er from mental illness The bipolar helps shape his work, more in some collections than in others

Sanda Manuila
Painting
Born in Geneva, Switzerland of Romanian political refugees, Sanda Manuila owns a family history that tells of expatriation and isolation As a young adult she moved to California and over the years has learned to become a citizen of the world, a status she also gained by studying art in France, Italy, Romania, and in the United States
Manuila’s oil paintings are stylized representational images that tell her passion for nature, and her concern for the threats of climate change She depicts how native animals and plants interact and survive in adverse surroundings With Covid-19 Manuila’s message has become more exacerbated When Mother Nature challenges us with extreme weather patterns, she reminds us that the beauty of our environment is at stake Birds tell our story of survival, love, danger, strength, and vulnerability Manuila paints visual stories; she wants them to be poignant and raise the question of our global situation in these disturbing times

David Poyant
Fiber
Art, Painting
My name is David Poyant, and I didn’t follow the traditional path to becoming an artist. I am a cobbler by trade, with a background in shoe repair and handcrafted orthotics I worked in the trade for 25 years and then completed my professional career in retail. Handcrafted artistry comes in many forms and provided me multiple pathways in work and art throughout my journey As I approached retirement, I pondered the next steps. Always one to be working with my hands, I remembered my mother sitting in her chair knitting, cross stitching, and embroidering She was always stitching something Therefore, with no formal training, I picked up my needles, embroidery threads, and a stretcher at a hobby shop and started sewing But what do I sew? I began by nding photographers who would allow me to embroider their work and I haven’t stopped stitching since then Each thread-paint embroidery is hand stitched on artist canvas using both 1 and 2 strands of embroidery thread and can take up to 60 hours to complete
I have neither a college degree, nor any experiences in advanced art or stitching classes However, I have always had an eye for design and many experiences in my 68 years of life that inspired me to develop my artwork I was not shy about showing my thread-paint embroidery pieces to anyone interested while I worked in retail. Most of my thread painting pieces were landscapes, trees, and coastal scenes While working, I met the director of the board at the Buttonwood Park Zoo in New Bedford, MA. She asked if I would be willing to do a thread painting of an animal for the fundraiser at the Zoo The Red Panda was the rst of what was to become a series of animals adorning the walls of the Zoo as well as other pieces used to support their fundraising e orts This opened other forums to display my pieces, such as shing boats for the Fisherman’s Heritage Museum in New Bedford and donations for fundraisers in support of the American Cancer Society.
I am honored to be a featured artist in Artsy-Shark. Handcrafting thread-paint embroidery is a constant reminder that one can nd their passion at any time in life For me, it was at the end of a retail career and picking up a thread and needle, not knowing if anyone else besides me would ever see any of my Thread Paintings later in life I enjoy seeing the reactions people have when they realize they are not looking at a painting and then see the stitch by stitch e ort that went into creating the one of a kind piece of art. I invite you to enjoy my Thread Paintings and encourage you to nd your passion, whatever it is

Tanja Schlosser grew up in the Chicago suburbs with immigrant parents and ed to Berkeley in her early 20’s to be in the company of more open minded people and natural beauty Throughout the years, being primarily self taught, she explored many aesthetic mediums. Tanja is most passionate about photography and her self created art form of handcrafting baskets and sculptural wall hangings, using wisteria vine and embellishing them with foraged natural materials.
The inspiration for her sculpture and photography comes from nature and her passion to re ect the wonder and beauty she sees Weaving sculptural pieces and taking photos is a meditative process, where she can slow down and connect to nature and herself Having lived in Japan and being a practicing Buddhist, she has been in uenced by wabi-sabi, a view and artistic style that appreciates beauty in the imperfect and the impermanent She is passionate about capturing the transient nature of things and nding something interesting in the unusual or overlooked Her art is a tribute to our earth and the wisdom and refuge nature provides She delights in sharing her photographs and sculptures with the hope that they elicit feelings of calm and appreciation for our earth
Tanja has shown her work this past year at two juried group exhibitions in Berkeley, California's ACCI Gallery called Things with Wings and Water is Sacred She is also currently exhibiting both sculpture and photography at an international juried show called 10 x 10 x 10 x Tieton, 15th Annual Art and Humanities in Tieton, Washington

Creativity is a way of being. It is not a part of who I am, it is how I am. Although I studied art at the University of California at Berkeley, I received undergraduate and graduate degrees in Psychology, and became, and still am, a psychotherapist in private practice.
Now I am also calling myself an artist.
Over the last 20 years my attention to art has grown tremendously I've created more art than ever, exploring new mediums, like encaustic, gouache, and oil pastel
My paintings have been accepted from juried submissions at the Sedona Art Center, Artistonish Magazine43rd issue, and Verum Ultimum Art Gallery- Abstract Sanctuary, Las Lagunas Art Gallery- Botanical Art, and Red Blu Art Gallery, Open Call 2024 In addition, I've been published in Novum Artis Magazine, issues 002 and 003, Observica Magazine, Impulse Edition- 28th issue, Tranquilllum-2024 Annual Juried Exhibition and publication, Exibizone Seasons, Summer (3rd juried exhibition) and Spring 2024. Doors are and continue to open and I'm thrilled to say my art is being well received

My earliest memories of having a creative spark were growing up in Arlington, TX, and receiving plastic vehicle models made by Ertl and AMT for my birthday, Christmas, or special events I developed a strong sense of craftsmanship putting those models together, but it wasn’t long before I got bored following the instructions and began customizing them by putting the front end of one car onto a di erent car or by modifying the fenders, doors, and hoods to create my own design. I have always felt more comfortable doing things my own way rather than following the norm
I began putting paint to canvas around 35 years ago but did not pursue it seriously until the pandemic forced us to stay at home and I needed a creative outlet for my ‘cabin-fever ’ I was inspired by an artist about my age, who began painting again after a 30-year hiatus He taught me that it is never too late to pursue your dreams, and that is a valuable lesson for anyone biafarin com/artist?name=greg-gaskie

Classically trained in Barcelona, Spain at the Barcelona Academy of art and schooled at the University of Houston, I have been blessed to have many great teachers in my life My rst teacher, Nancy Hines, taught me classical gurative art techniques when I was 14. I have become enamoured with the style ever since. I grew up the daughter of an immigrant father and Mexican mother in Chicago and Houston My exposure to Latin cultures is re ected in my art.
I had several interests at the University of Houston majoring in English and Spanish while minoring in political philosophy Ever curious, I plan to return to Barcelona to complete my gurative artistic training and get an MFA at the University of Houston in painting
I specialize in mediums such as charcoal, oil paint, and acrylic paint My in uences range from classical artists such as Bouguereau and Velasquez to more contemporary artists such as Siqueiros and Kahlo

Creating art is my way of dealing with the challenges and struggles I face in life. Growing up in Pensacola, Florida, I experienced loss and moments of isolation that shaped how I see the world These experiences pushed me to explore themes of life and death through my art. Each piece I create helps me remember the beauty and love that can get lost in the daily grind Art brings me joy and focus, even when I'm going through tough times.
My journey as an artist has taken me to di erent places, from the familiar surroundings of my childhood to the quiet isolation of a remote adobe hut in New Mexico These experiences have shaped my creative process, which is spontaneous and driven by intuition Art gives me a sense of purpose and connection to something bigger than myself
For me, art is a symbol of hope It’s a way to generate light in the darkness, much like the steady rhythm of the tides It reminds me of the connection we all share with the world around us, a connection that’s often hidden beneath the surface
When I feel like something important is missing, my art serves as a reminder that there’s still more to life It keeps me going, giving me strength to face my fears. My work is like a steady anchor in a chaotic world, o ering comfort and reassurance when things get tough
Each piece I create is a promise to myself to keep going, no matter what. My artworks are a source of strength, a way to protect myself from feeling lost or overwhelmed They remind me that even when things seem di cult, there’s always a way forward.

Yvonne Welman
Painting
After her education at the academy of arts Tilburg (NL). She worked as a teacher in arts and art history. To improve her qualities as a painter she took lessons in 16e and 17e centuries oil painting techniques
The artist works with open acrylics in a layering technique. She often integrates textile fabrics and other materials from her personal history
Her work has to be realistic, because she creates multifaceted and engaging paintings, that tell visual stories about her experiences and ideas
The stories cover gender equality, social issues, art history and personal issues
She does explore the Zeitgeist from a female view
Serendipity, time and technique each play their part during the process of creating the paintings It takes a lot of time to create her work, which makes it possible to add a new idea during the process This stands in strong contrast with all the super cial images that we are surrounded with most of the day
