Adam Strange

Digital Arts, Digital Painting

Art is the corporeal representation of the deeply unsettling knot of humanity, which the artist tries to untie Adam Strange started his art career during the mid-eighties, exhibiting locally in Southwestern Ontario before graduating from the Ontario College of Art (OCA) in 1992 with a focus on magic-realism and old master technique Adam studied and was inuenced heavily by the direction and guidance of his father, an artist and technical illustrator, as well as OCA professor Carmen Cereceda, a Chilean muralist who was an assistant of Diego Rivera Over the decades, Adam's artwork has seen his tools change from traditional materials into the digital realm, but the journey has remained the same challenging viewers to question the world around them and to live in a world of their own making

Gayle Faulkner Painting

From the time I was a small child, I wanted to be an artist During my childhood, art was not considered to be an important pursuit In the Kansas City, Missouri school district, we had a traveling art teacher for about½ hour per month I was also a very academic child and knew that I needed a scholarship to go to college I got my scholarship to a very good academic collage and graduated with a degree in Sociology I spent years working with children in a variety of capacities One day, out of the blue, I decided to be an artist As usual, I jumped in with both feet I took some painting classes with the focus on the elements and principals of design I spent hours in my cold dark basement practicing until I was able to create some good watercolors

My watercolors are painted in a nontraditional manner and I was gratied that they actually worked I started doing shows around the United States and have won numerous awards, participated in juried exhibitions and have work in private and corporate collections around the world

When Covid drastically changed our lives, I decided to pursue a new direction and started using “Textural Acrylics” These are created with a palette knife on canvas Incorporating modeling paste and acrylic gels as well as wood and collage have led me to a new awakening. Painting primarily in an impasto style, I become immersed in the process as I have a “conversation” with the painting so that a joyful merging of color, texture and creativity emerge. Every painting invites the viewer to come into the world on the canvas and make it their own I love my new direction and can only imagine how my paintings will grow in the future

Lisa Auerbach Painting, Photography

Lisa Auerbach is an intuitive artist and photographer Whether it be painting or photographing, Lisa delves into the mystery of creation with complete openness and lets the image reveal itself to her She listens She waits She plays She walks away And she listens some more for the gentle whisper of creativity When she hears it, everything else falls away, and she can then channel the magic of mystery and create

Her love of photography started in her teens when her father gave her a NikonF It was attached to her wherever she roamed After college she moved to NYC and worked on her MFA in Photography at Pratt Institute Then she decided to experience the world and bought a one-way ticket to Mexico, living on a coee plantation hidden away in the hills of Oaxaca. From there, she ew to the Yukon, and was a chef for a mining camp When everything froze she bought a beat up old RV and tried gold mining in Northern California While she has settled down in Pennsylvania, she has not given up her love of adventure. During 2021 she explored Puerto Rico and drove her Jeep cross country, camping out of it and experiencing the beautiful country that she lives in. She documents her adventures with photography wherever she goes.

In 2021 Lisa also decided to paint. She comes from a long line of artists and felt a strong pull to explore this form of creativity The magic was instant and painting is now a part of her When she's not photographing her travels, she is in her studio painting the mysteries that reveal themselves to her.

And the journey continues...

Blessing Hancock Sculpture

My education and work experience in sculpture and landscape architecture gives me a unique perspective for public art As a former landscape designer and community planner, I have a special appreciation for the elements involved in the design of public spaces, and the considerations required to successfully integrate public art

Through the inclusion of interactive opportunities to engage and participate with the artwork through touch, sound and movement, my concepts push the boundaries of the public experience Light is a connective thread that runs through my work, and I believe in light’s ability to enliven a space

Gary Menzel Painting

Growing up in Detroit, MI and its suburbs I was fortunate enough to be surrounded by a range of world class visual arts and music These inuences, along with a vibrant mix of people and cultures helped shape my interest in the arts

When approaching a blank canvas, I start with a general concept but accept that my initial idea may have to be altered or even abandoned during the painting process, otherwise the painting will be lost Making the nal painting work is somewhat of a negotiation with the painting itself I approach abstract expressionism as a dance, and the canvas always leads

My goal as an artist is to evoke the imagination and emotions of the observer, engaging them in abstract paintings with no real sense of beginning or end, and providing the observer with much to consider.

My work is currently in private collections throughout the United States and Canada. Recent exhibitions include the Morean Art Center, and the Five Deuces Galleria Upcoming, a solo exhibit at Optik! (St Petersburg, FL) in March, 2023.
