I began my journey as a photographer the same way many of my peers did: a camera passed down or gifted. Something not terribly expensive but with good glass and simple operations Mine was a Yashica-MAT 124G, during one of its nal years in production. This was in 1985. It was an oddball relic even at the time, since most everyone else I knew had already become acquainted with 35mm But I was and continue to be rebellious I would prefer a larger negative. My rig was heavier, simpler, and so required more patience and thought. It required an artist’s eye, and that’s what I would put to it

Because of the nature of the negative, I basically began to view the world in terms squares Everything was framed with this in mind This certainly lends a hand to portraiture, but also demands creativity when attempting landscapes; the subject is more focused, more up front, where detail is the key I would take my 6x6 camera with me on vague o-the-beaten-path trails to far-ung corners of Cheshire County, New Hampshire And I would see it dierently than how others may've

That camera came with me to Los Angeles, where I would spend the next couple of decades. And like many my colleagues, I would make the transition to digital but not before adding to my analog collection of workable cameras several Canons, a few Olympuses, two Mamiya twin-lenses, and my glorious, often used but mostly admired Mamiya 645 Pro They’re behind glass now and I take them out every once in a while to admire their construction and attention to detail. But, darkrooms are increasingly rare, and the software oerings are getting better

My cameras are an extension to me, my inner dialog brought to the fore. I compose when I shoot. We’re constantly moving in a place like Los Angeles, but it is through my constant pursuit of photographic exceptionalism that I’m able to see the details, the story, and the drama of the stillness between stoplights. I’ll always shoot, and most of the pictures are not going to be that good, but the ones that get through will hopefully transcend to a photograph.

Leigh-Ann Edrich

Illustration, Photography, Painting, Drawing, Digital Arts

Internationally known Fine Artist with a winning streak of publications, exhibitions and awards that started on 12 Jan 23 that has continued into 2024 with 32 new wins in 2024/100 total

A multi-talented artist that creates in every part of her life, Ilia began painting while maintaining a poetic pen pal relationship with a man named Ralph Grimes, who one day she sent a drawing to After he hung up the sketch and he told her of how many admirers praised the work, her condence and purpose as an artist was cemented Inspired by the creativity of her mother and grandfather through gardening, she learned at a mere three years of age and beyond that ‘life is a canvas ’ upon which we create She continued her poetry, yet was urged by Grimes to try her hand at painting

Her path was set Known for her ability to communicate exactly what the viewer wants in her commissioned pieces, she sold her rst wonderful work in 1987, titled ‘Cosi Fan Tuti ’ Her rst check for this validated her increasingly growing ability as an artist

Ilia weaves a very spiritual feeling into both her writings and art Schooled by independent teachers, predominately Mr Grimes who held an MFA, she was rooted further in her work by teachings in Classical, Jazz, Big Band and more

Following the lyrical pulse of life, when Ilia paints, creates digital ne art or writes, she listens to music. Inuenced by Mozart, Vivaldi, Loeillet, Telemann, Purcell, Beethoven, Hayden, Bach, utist Jean-Pierre Rampal, and old time jazz, among more, these sounds help breathe life into her poetic, painterly work. Also heavily inuenced by writer, poet, photographer, musician, and lmmaker L Ron Hubbard, whose rational philosophy has guided her life, as well as inventor and artist Leonardo Di Vinci – she dubs her style as Dreamscapes as it has dierent colors and ows-reminiscent of her varying high minded inuences from art and musical composition to philosophy.

Ilia states, that she creates art in order to ‘inspire others to create ’ Indeed, her visions for her life, even beyond the canvass, are bright and noble. She adds, “I help other artists to make a living with their art because I found out that once I inspire others to create it elevates us all up higher-myself included And- at times that person isn’t going to continue unless there is a way or even several ways in which to make a living with their art, so I like to help teach them to do that ”

In addition to art, Ilia has now written a book titled “The Art of Mentoring” to share her successful actions for helping others! But for now, it is Ilia’s art that is worthy of much great attention When asked what clients collecting her work can expect, she concludes, “People can expect quality work that speaks to them. A person with my art can expect to look at it time and again nding new things to admire about it And a person can expect other people, when seeing it, to gravitate to it, look at it, admire and to continue to be drawn to the painting, looking and seeing more about it ” Unclear?

Hardly. Ilia is a rare, grounded woman with a vision, and possessing of a trained skill and condence in that vision, which speaks diligently- from the spirit to each work she creates- and from each work in turn to each client. It is with that understanding that we invite you to enjoy the exploration of this very vibrant and deserving artist

Leigh Witherell Painting

Leigh Witherell (b. 1969; Denver City, Texas, US)

Photographer and award-winning painter

Leigh Witherell lives and works in Brevard County, Florida, near Orlando and Cape Canaveral.

Although Leigh’s education in the arts did not begin until college, she began to immerse herself in the fantasy world of literature as a child. Her escape into a wide variety of literary works that included the worlds of King Arthur, Beowulf, and others helped fuel the imaginings of a child and led to a love of creating The combination of those interests later led her to obtain a BA in English with a minor in Fine Arts and eventually a Master’s in Literature from the Wright State University in Fairborn, Ohio

In 2018, Leigh and her husband relocated to Florida, where they found the perfect home with a studio for her creative work

Her understanding of art-making as a powerful therapeutic tool informs her artistic practice She specializes in abstract and uid art, as these techniques allow her visions to transform themselves through interaction and reaction For Leigh, this process mirrors grief, a central experience in her life following the loss of her daughter Amanda in a tragic automobile accident in April 2021. Shortly before Amanda’s death, she had encouraged Leigh to launch her career as an artist and had identied uid art as a mother-daughter project that would serve those purposes. Leigh decided to proceed with learning this new technique and began showing her uid art soon after It wasn’t long until her evolution took her away from uid art and into her passion, melancholic abstract gurative and landscape art. This technique certainly shows the depth of feelings and range of emotions that are now part of her everyday life Through these images, she can convey how her life has been aected and is evolving daily.

David Lawlor

David Lawlor's life narrative is as captivating and intricate as the subjects of his celebrated photographs. Born in Pune, India, David entered the world amidst the rich tapestry of cultures and histories a theme that would come to deeply inuence his artistic endeavors. Only a month after his birth, he faced the profound experience of abandonment when he was put up for adoption This early chapter set the tone for what would become a life-long quest for belonging and self-discovery.

David's search for a place to call his own led him down diverse paths Each avenue explored added depth and perspective to his understanding of the world and, more importantly, the stories it holds

It was in documenting history specically, the historic and abandoned that David found his true calling His childhood experience with abandonment resonated with the neglected and forgotten structures he photographed, mirroring the hidden narratives etched within their decaying walls

Coty Cisne Painting

My life has been processed through the visual medium of two dimensional work. Though I like to say everybody creates from kindergarten, I never stopped, I would have the caveat to say that I realized Art was my dening use of language when words failed me during high school. As my mind and work processed love and loss my voice was seen through visual representations Expectation versus reality while facing the inevitable truth that the only constant in life is change.

Born As Gabriela in Venezuela in 1990, my artistic name is Coty Cisne I have exhibited in Brickell Arts Festival, January 2024, Beaux Arts Festival January 2024,OSLO FREEDOM FORUM, Group December 2021,DIABOLIC GALLERY, Group August 20217 and STRUCTURED CHAOS, Individual December 2016

Painting

Art is such a strong element in our lives that can elevate our thoughts and bring positivity to our lives. As an artist, I capture the essence of a subject matter and translate it into a visual language that is both personal and universal. I have a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of color and composition. My approach is to work with a sense of curiosity and experimentation, always pushing the boundaries of what is possible. Each brushstroke reects my innermost thoughts and emotions in the nal piece. My paintings are a mixture of both deeply personal and universally relatable Art is a celebration of the beauty of the world and a reection of our unique perspective Feeling that celebration in my heart I am always trying to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary in my work

For me, it is a window into my soul so inviting the viewer to look deeper and discover the beauty of the world of art through my eyes

Amy Eskind

Photography

Amy Eskind began her career as a journalist. While reporting on political and human interest stories, major publications would always send a photographer to illustrate the coverage But when phone cameras became ubiquitous, editors began to ask reporters to snap a few shots for publication. Eskind knew photography was important to her articles, and she knew she'd need to become skillful at it She took classes and invested in professional equipment, and her photographs appeared alongside her reporting for People and NPR online. Years later, she moved to Park City, Utah Living amidst elk and moose and porcupines and such, she began to focus on wildlife She has won awards for her intimate photos that allow viewers to connect to animals on an emotional level and see bits of themselves in the animal behavior

Photography

I was educated to be a scientist with a Ph.D in Physics, but after nishing Post Doctoral work at Los Alamos, New Mexico, I took a position in the research department of a Multi-National Oil company where I did fundamental research to image the interior of the earth. It was here that I learned the fundamentals of signal processing that I now use for photography I spent a career with this company performing both research and operational oil exploration. It was a great opportunity to travel and see the world.

I am a self taught “artist” I like to study the work of the Masters both in the Paints and Photography Painters have the luxury of creating perfect composition and palette with their mind’s eye (there is much to learn from their work), but the photographer has only a short time to nd the right composition before the scene changes The photographer has to develop great instinct and fast non hesitant reactions to do their work outside the studio This is especially true of Street Photographers The best way to learn these skills, in my opinion, is go out and take a lot of photographs

In 2017 over 1.2 trillion photographs were made of the existing world. When one stops to think about it, there are very few things that have not been photographed before For me I nd motivation for photography by looking for the shot that others have overlooked. It may be a new Point of View or a dierent way of seeing light, or even using light that is not visible to the human eye I have developed a strong style using the invisible light of infrared photography. For the viewer of the photograph I hope they nd something that they have failed to notice before

A professional photographer for more than 17 years in New York, in 2022, decided to give it all up and relocate to Utah for the outdoors Notable awards and recognitions include being a 3 time invitee to the AQUA show during Miami art week, Finalist in the Art of Building Competition held by the Chartered Institute of Building, Honorable mention in Abstract Architecture from the International Photo Awards and a nalist in the Eccles Art Center Photo competition.

"Daniel Jenney captures a balance of contradictions in his photographic architectural series Cascading rows of overlapping dimensional forms, both rounded and sharp, soft and hard, are bathed in radiant luster and velvet shadow Monolithic dark shapes protrude into soft gradients of rainbow light, heightening a theatrical drama of the negotiation between opposites Carefully weighted forms are anchored to the bottom of the pictureplane while feeling precariously balanced from above These images are as delicate, gossamer and elegant, as they are strong, heavy and bold "

Drawing, Painting

I was born and lives in Korea, and has loved to draw since childhood. So, I entered the Department of Visual Design at Kyungsung University, but from my 4th year of college, painting was not included in my life As 20 more years passed, life, marriage, and work all seemed to go well, but they gradually disappeared one by one, leaving nothing behind Such things kept repeating, and strangely, the more I lost, the more the picture came closer to me. In the end, it became the only strength left for me.
