WHY ? The Black Sea is facing severe challenges accordingly to the Strategic Action Plan for the Environmental Protection and Rehabilitation of the Black Sea, adopted in Sofia, Bulgaria, 17 April 2009 by the Commission on the Protection of the Black Sea Against Pollution. The Plan identifies four priority transnational problems: eutrophication/nutrient enrichment; changes in marine living resources; chemical pollution (including oil); and biodiversity/habitat changes, including alien species introduction.
Page 5
The general public from Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia, and Turkey possesses scarce knowledge about these problems and its involvement in solving them is even scarcer. In all these countries, the involvement of young people in the protection of the Black Sea and its coastal area is limited to small-scale actions of cleaning beaches or raising awareness campaigns.

ABOUT OUR PROJECT
The goal of our project was to organize a transnational youth meeting with of 10 days in Costinesti, Romania. The seminar reunited 41 young people from four partner organisations from Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia and Turkey (coordinated by 6 project team members) with 5 policy-makers and experts (Representatives of the Romanian Parliament and Government, Representatives of the Environment and Education Ministries from Turkey and Bulgaria and experts on the protection of sea and coastal areas)

Our Partners In order to assess the success of our project, we have created a wonderful partnership with 3 nongovernmental organizations from Bulgaria, Turkey, and Slovakia. We divided all the task and the responsibilities this project had for us, establishing a communication plan, and starting looking for participants, the main selection criteria being motivation. Genç Düşler Atölyesi Derneği (GDAD) from Turkey is an NGO that has been active in providing youngsters, children, women and especially disadvantaged people with opportunities to reintegrate them into the society and express themselves on a voluntary basis since 2013.

Eco- Batucada within the activity of Eco- Batucada, which took place in the 5th day of our project in front of the Constanta Casino, the participants became familiar with playing the instruments of percussion and in the same time to transmit a message to the local population, the message of a group of young people who want to raise awareness about the problem of Black Sea pollution. With the help of Jean-Baptiste, they went on the beach and collected waste materials. After that, the next activity was to transform them into characters and made for each of them a story. The activity had the aim to prove that even waste material can be transformed into creative ceations.
Page 12
Environmental Art Exhibition The second big activity of our project was the Environmental Art Exhibition when the participants, together with the decision makers and the team leaders organized a demonstration in the front of the Obelisc, the symbol of Costinesti.
Page 13
Using waste trash and other activities they created real art objects such as sculptures, paintings and so on. In the first stage, they went on the beach and shared promotional Erasmus+ leaflets and at the same time invited people to the Exhibition. When everybody who was present at our event was paying attention, the participants divided into groups started to tell the story of their own art object. The whole activity was a great success, some of the present people even tried to buy some of the art creations, but the participants chose to donate them.

The visit to the National Institute of Marine Research and Development "Grigore Antipa" During the visit to the National Institute of Marine Research and Development "Grigore Antipa" from Constanta, the participants found out from direct representative entities of this Institution what are the main causes of pollution of the Black Seam which are the factors that are influencing this process.
Page 20
Also, the participants discovered which are the rules and the responsibilities all the countries have regarding the Black Sea and which are the standards everyone needs to assess, in order to protect the marine environment.
At the meeting, the participants had the opportunity to interact with the members of the Constanta County Prefecture and with the members of the Constanta Environmental Protection Agency. The meeting took the form of a Structured Dialogue between participants and those decision makers, interacting, asking questions and discovering the ways how the Balck Sea can be protected and the ways how the youth can be part of this process. Page 21
Members of the local and national media channels such as television and radio took part at the meeting, the participants having the chance to express their ideas, their thoughts, in this way also promoting the project and it's objectives.

Facts about the Black Sea Black Sea is one of the major water bodies and a famous inland sea of the world. It has been famous for a long time, mainly because of the name that denotes rather inhospitable nature of this sea. For a long time, the lack of hospitality of this sea was attributed to difficulty in its navigation.
The most interesting thing about this sea is its map. The map of Black Sea flaunts its 159,600 sq mi sea lying between South East Europe and Asia. This sea is connected with the Mediterranean Sea through Bosporus, the Sea of Marmara and the Dardanelles. It is an amazing feature on the map of Black Sea that it is surrounded by six different countries. Page 28
