This is my favourite website on the internet because you don’t need to put your real name or age and it doesn’t have any comment section about the things you post! SOCIAL MEDIA - WEAPONS OF MASS DISTRACTION In my opinion, the social platforms like Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter, YouTube or Blogger can be weapons of mass distraction because they distract people from reality and their life problems. This can be a positive thing because it relieves us from the daily stress by watching some funny videos, talking to our best friends, seeing some pictures of a landscape, etc. But if it’s used too much, we will lose the track of time and become isolated from everyone and everything. My favourite mass media The internet is my favourite mass media, because it is the perfect place to talk to family or friends anywhere in the world and any time. We can share information, suggestions, opinions or questions. However, it can be very dangerous for anyone who can use it due to cyber-bullying, stalking and hacking. The generation of my parents was very different from mine. They had fun outdoors, with their friends face- to-face, while my generation has fun playing on the computer, meeting friends online and also publishing photos and states throughout the day and this has impact because we waste a lot of time on these sites that interfere with school performance and sleep.(Isbela – 10ºCT3)
